P087 Code and Car Dies, EcuTek Tuned, FI---Help!
Guys,
I've had this problem for almost a while and it's really starting to bug me. It happens occasionally, not all the time, either after I've been driving for a while and get into stop and go traffic or after I've been driving for a while and make a couple of quick stops. The car will stumble, die, then I'll get the P087 (low fuel rail pressure) code. If I clear it and start moving again, it'll be ok for a few minutes, but if I stop again it reoccurs. If I clear it and wait a minute the car will do the same thing and I have to let it cool down some. If anybody has any insight, or has experience wih this problem I'd really appreciate your assistance! Kelly Last edited by kmbkk; 04-01-2014 at 09:07 PM. |

Based on some of the comments in the "Blown BRZ motor" thread, low fuel pressure can be very bad.
I would get that fixed before some "non-linear catastrophic structural exasperation" occurs. (aka - BOOM) |

Is it possibly an overheating (or faulty) pump? If letting the car (and pump) cool fixes it temporarily it would make sense that the pump is struggling when it gets warm.

Thanks for the quick responses guys! To answer your questions:
-I haven't been able to log it as it's intermittent, and usually occurs when I'm driving home from work. -I'm on a base tune by @jamesm. A little more info on my car: -265 LPH Treadstone fuel pump. -stock injectors -running ~10-12 psi boost, but definitely baby the car. Last edited by kmbkk; 04-01-2014 at 09:09 PM. |
