Guys,

I've had this problem for almost a while and it's really starting to bug me. It happens occasionally, not all the time, either after I've been driving for a while and get into stop and go traffic or after I've been driving for a while and make a couple of quick stops. The car will stumble, die, then I'll get the P087 (low fuel rail pressure) code. If I clear it and start moving again, it'll be ok for a few minutes, but if I stop again it reoccurs. If I clear it and wait a minute the car will do the same thing and I have to let it cool down some.

If anybody has any insight, or has experience wih this problem I'd really appreciate your assistance!

I'd check your fuel pump install.

Based on some of the comments in the "Blown BRZ motor" thread, low fuel pressure can be very bad.

I would get that fixed before some "non-linear catastrophic structural exasperation" occurs. (aka - BOOM)

did you get with James for new tune or still using the old tune? I would look at in tank fuel pump install.

If he is still in his old tune, its the same tuner...

Is it possibly an overheating (or faulty) pump? If letting the car (and pump) cool fixes it temporarily it would make sense that the pump is struggling when it gets warm.

Thanks for the quick responses guys! To answer your questions:

-I haven't been able to log it as it's intermittent, and usually occurs when I'm driving home from work.

-I'm on a base tune by @jamesm.

A little more info on my car:

-265 LPH Treadstone fuel pump.
-stock injectors
-running ~10-12 psi boost, but definitely baby the car.

-I'm not on the old tune, thankfully. I'm using a base tune by @jamesm. I'm already in communication with him about this.

I would first and foremost look at in tank fuel pump install.

Agreed. It should be apparent in the logs, even if it's not actively presenting itself in a perceivable manner. When my fuel pump was initially installed incorrectly, @DeliciousTuning was able to see the fuel rail pressure falling off at higher RPM's (even though the car wasn't acting funny at that particular moment).

I found the log from when I was having a similar issue. I don't have ProECU handy on this PC, but i tossed it into excel so you could see the rail fuel pressure vs RPM from my issue and compare with your logs to see if you notice anything similar.

We haven't done any wot logs yet, just a basemap to get the car running safe.

Bingo. I'd bet money it's the fuel pump. Easy enough to fix. If you need extra o-rings, NAPA sells them, part # 2-12093 for 2 of them.
