Out of curiosity, how are you securing the little air resonator that we drilled the rivets out of? Something I was wondering for if I needed to do the same.

Attach the motors to the compressor and turbine.
Wire the motors together.
Hope that the motor on the turbine works as a generator.

This would eliminate all the pesky tubing between the turbo and the intake manifold.

Do you think this might work? I have a big old turbo laying around doing nothing.

Hmmm... maybe I'm not understanding, I'm not sure how that design would eliminate tubing between the turbo and intake manifold - many turbo kits have the turbo sitting at the front of the motor - there's a lot of tubing because all turbo kit's I've seen have an intercooler because they need it. The Phantom supercharger doesn't really need an intercooler because it doesn't produce that much boost. A simpler version of what you're saying would be to eliminate the intercooler, and run some short piping from the turbo to the intake, and set the wastegate to something like 4 psi. The main barrier with getting your old turbocharger hooked up is the exhaust driving the turbine - it's not that easy to design properly, it's expensive, and is some work to get it installed/uninstalled.

Yeah,
you're right.
I was watching the F1 race in a Colorado state of mind when this "GREAT IDEA" struck.
It probably isn't very practical but it is still a GREAT IDEA.

Hey guys..need some brain power.

This weekend I shortened my snorkel like most others have done on the forums. I also made sure my header and exhaust bolts were tight (including 02 sensors). There were no visual indication of leakage (no dark spots).

I then decided to run some logs to make sure everything was solid before heading to Buttonwillow Friday for a Saturday HPDE. To my surprise, the log wasn't that great. I was feeling a lag in power and this confirms it. I'm running too lean in the 2-3k RPM range (18:1) with a gradual decline to mid 12s by 7k.

Vishnu says that initial suspect is exhaust leak near the 02 sensor but I made sure everything was tight (and I used new gaskets when installing the header).

Here is my question. If I disable the ESC gas pedal switch and change to the standard (non-ESC) UEL Stage 2 tune - this should show me if it is an exhaust leak or a spool issue with the ESC, right?

Here are 2 2nd gear pulls showing the issue:

Why not install the old tube and then datalog and see what happens. Also do you have a boost of power around 4k?

Just comes down to effort. Between work and the family I'm short on time tonight (read no time) but want to test something. The negative pressure spool shouldn't affect my tune that much right? And if it does it will show at higher RPMs and not at the 2-3k range...right?

I dont know how shiv tunes that phantom SC that is a question for him. Mine will naturally run leaner in NA mode(esc turned off), it targets the standard tunes AFR's. When the higher load cells are triggered it goes rich.

Mine goes super rich at low rpm's with the brz edit tune.

Cant wait to get the OFT tune, should get a nice bump in performance in comparison to what i have now

Installed the stage 2 UEL tune and kept the ESC turned off (instead of removing the foot switch). Still something going on before 4k RPM - after that looks good. I think this confirms something is going on besides the ESC from 2-4k RPM. I'm taking it to get it looked at tomorrow on a lift to see if an expert can find a leak. Hopefully it's just something simple...

ESC/OFH OFT Tune with ESC on:

UEL Stage 2 OTS OFT Tune with ESC Off

On another note...car feels like a dog! I think I got used to the ESC

I would be carefull hitting full boost with the ESC on. It is running very lean and the logs that shiv has posted of his FRS do not show that same lean event.

Email shiv directly and ask him about it if you havent already.
