I wasn't planning on lowering, but I was looking at these originally as a "if I do decide to lower" option. I abandoned them for coils when I was looking at a 17x9 +45 wheel. I have since dropped back to a 17x8 +45 as my wishlist wheel to save some trouble. So now I'm back to not wanting to lower, but if I decide to, these are the go to for it. I'm just wondering if a 17x8 +45 with a 245/40 tire will fit fine. I always have the same problem in all of these threads. Some close setups, but never the one I want. More pictures!

I run a 17x8 +45 with 245/40 ZIIs and maxed out oem camber bolts on RCE yellows. Fits fine.

But the maxed out camber. Still different. I'm not looking for any extra camber because I don't know anything about it, so stock camber is where I'd like to stay.

The maxed out camber makes the fit tighter so there would be even more clearance without it (tilts the top of the wheel toward the strut). I would suggest picking up a set of Subaru camber bolts though. They're less than 10 bucks, very easy for an alignment shop to adjust, and they'll make a significant difference in handling. Sort of a no downside modification.

Check out @stockysnail 's build page. He is running the RCE Yellows with Konis and so far has the best overall handling vs comfort of any of my friends 86s that I have ridden in or driven (i have gotten to drive his car on oregon's hwy 101). Hes done 95% of the work to his car himself, so I would shoot him a PM and ask him any questions you may have.

Neuspeed 18x8 et35 17.8lbs hubcentric originally grey but I painted gold w/ red. Bridgestone RE-11 225/40R18. Koni Yellow insert shocks with RCE Yellow springs. About 1.1 camber in front and 1.5 in rear if I remember correctly.

Wheels are for sale by the way. I'm willing to plastidip black for not extra cost is desired. I'll ship as well with an added fee of course.

Advan RS 17x8 ET45. Tires are 225/45/17 Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3. Wheel was originally gold, but had some damages from previous owner. Plastidipped to copper metallizer.

the drop on RCE yellows looks great (20 mm) and the front to rear neutral rate is appealing but the +50% spring rate over stock springs on OEM shocks is concerning for ride quality and durability of the shocks...is this just a "on paper" concern, how is the "real" world experience with ride and durability on oem dampers ?
