No I've never done autoX, I am mildly interested, but I have done many track days... The only part of autoX that turns me off is the rules and classes. I want to modify my car in ways I desire, which unfortunately would put me into higher classes where I couldn't be competitive without many more mods.

Just a heads up to all the Denver enthusiasts. I'll be moving out there in may from California. I look forward to meeting you all. I know when I was out there last month I didn't see one on the road. I like how it actually makes us a bit more unique. In California it is starting to feel like everyone and their mother have one. Any fun events coming up out there?

Hey man, I'm moving out to Denver metro from OC. cool coincidence.

Exact date is still undecided, but it will be sometime this spring/summer.

I agree about your observation of 86s in Cali. When we moved here from NJ, at first I was excited to see so many more on the roads. But I quickly started to learn how few were actual car people...

We actually just had a big group meet two weekends ago in the springs. And this past weekend had a group meet at the track. More to come for sure

Well you're welcome to join me on the 27th. I'd be happy to help in any capacity for prep.

I've never done Autocross, but I'd like to check it out. Can you just show up at the event?

Absolutely, there isn't a cost to spectate either. If it's not out of the way you should at least see what you'd be doing when you decide to compete.

Yes you can just show up with the entry fee (usually around $40) and get set up with the volunteers at the event. You will need to pre-register online though through the RMS Solo site:

http://www.rmsolo.org/schedule.php

Here's a nifty page that helps :

http://www.rmsolo.org/coneclps/NoviceGD.pdf

It will be my first time too for entering in Autocross but it seems like the people I've met from these events are very helpful, outgoing, and welcoming to first timers. Also, if you don't have a helmet then they have loaners on hand for you to use.

Thanks for the links. I will be sure to check those out and do some research. I look forward to going to an event soon
