hey guys thanks for all the encouraging words. trust me, i want it right here right now, but it`s going to be a slow process. I am going to run it through some aero testing as I have the CAD. I think there will be a few runs of this to make minor adjustments and then I will start fabricating.

will keep you guys posted.

thanks!

so, I think I have a donor rear bumper coming soon. As soon as I get a oem rear bumper I`m gonna hack away and start the foam + clay process.

Thats funny. I have an FRS and want to get rid of the triangle. I even bought an 86-R rear bumper.

Not bad, Pete. How far under does it go? Looks a lot like DWL's project; what are the materials?

It goes all the way to the sway bar. It's .060 aluminum and the parts with the air holes and under the exhaust tips is 3/4" plastic.

I need your cad skills. That looks good. I've got an abs place around the corner from my house. I could go and try to help you out on this.

Add more draft to the pins that make the holes, or post create then by drilling / machining. You could make the pins slide in / out of the mold too, then when you remove the part you first pull the pins then the part will come out easier.

If you use nut inserts in the mold the pins could be threaded and you would "un-bolt" them to remove.....but make sure there is draft on them (taper) so they will be easy to remove.

Judging from your renders your having problems with the two "boxed" notches, looks like you need at least 5 degrees of draft on those and a sliding mate to the front opening.

My day job is mechanical engineer (SolidWorks CAD), if you need help I can

Cool stuff, let me know if you need any help as I'm local to you.

I do like the triangle on my FRS.
