Hey all, looking to run 245 or 255 wide tires on the 527's with Eibach Sportlines (1.4" drop) without rubbing (functional driving). What would be my best bet to be as flush with the fenders as possible, with minimal (if any) poke and no rub?

I was originally looking at the 18x8.75 but I'm now thinking 17's. Would a 17x8.25 +35 wrapped in 245 or 255 be flush with the front fender? I figure I can always throw a spacer on the rear, but can't unpoke the front if the offset is too aggressive. I don't have any camber bolts yet; will I need any?

Thanks.

While researching these wheels I read on a forum that on the 527 and 530 going from a +35 to a +25 will not add any more of a concave look and will only add poke. Can anyone confirm this? XXR's website has like tech specs on their wheels nor do they list an email address to contact them.

That is correct.

With XXR 527/530 offset doesn't affect concavity, only wheel width does. XXR controls offset with the hub depth portion of the wheel.

That is true it won't add concave, but it will look noticeable deeper because the hub is moved further in giving the illusion of a larger concave wheel.

Not quite, the thickness of the hub is altered based on the offset, not the depth. The face of a et25 and et35 will be identical, the difference will only be with the amount of material on the back of the hub.

At least that's how it was explained to me and I've compared 530 et25 and 35 in person, they are identical.

Really liking the look of the 530. I might have to get some of these. You just can't beat that price.

No way et25 and et35 can be identical with the same wheel width so someone has their pants on fire . In your theory, if you keep adding material to the back of the hub the offset would never change that's like saying adding a spacer changes the offset to a wheel.

Notice how the hub never changes in thickness but the hub is moved deeper into the wheel with a lower offset creating a more concave look.

Yes way. they can be identical and what you're saying doesn't disprove that. The offset is determined by where the back of the hub is, regardless concavity. Also you're showing me example of hugely different offsets. Since the choices of offsets with cheap wheels are rarely more then 10/15 mm apart, there's no point in designing a whole different wheel with more/less concave face. Its common for cheapo wheel companies to do this, this way they only need to design one face for each wheel width. From there the offset is determined by the depth at which they machine the back of the hub.

I don't know if XXR does this for sure but it's pretty common and they are very cheap, so its likely. Also having seen the two in person I could not see a difference in concavity.

Can you still get that stance look with a 8.75 wheel? not full out fender grazing lip stanced but a nice little tuck.

I was thinking of getting 18x8.75+35 with ST coilovers or FA500s... first time dropping a car though so i'm not sure how to do it exactly.

That will poke ever so slightly in the front. Rear will be tucked just fine
