That can be remedied, we'll just make Canada the next ten states.

Mmm I see a wideband and blocks in my future. Now to get a nameless header in your hands.

The net result is you have a faster car because you are sweeping through that rev range not just the 7-7.4k range... |

You aren't even going to be able to make use of even 10+ extra HP in 500 rpm at the top end. The mid-range is where you are more even for autocross and track days.

Even better, MotoIQ will dyno the car again in a few weeks to see if the power remained. -alex Edit: While I agree that the powerband being wider (larger area under the curve) is a good thing, one has to take into consideration transmission gearing ratios and wheel/tire choice to maximize performance. For a street car, this wider powerband is beneficial... however if one were to race, the same can't be said so easily. For drag racing, you'd want to ideally overlay redline and RPM drop points to see what powerband the car will be in. Same for track... sometimes a shift like this necessitates different gearing. A car's powerband isn't laid out arbitrarily, once you change something ideally there should be something else to take advantage of it. |
