Well your thinking about it wrong. The LEDs are not the parking lights, the parking lights are the Sidemarkers and amber turn signals.

I cannot say if the engine has to be on for LEDs to work with parking lights and ebrake down, my usual routine is start engine, then disengage ebrake. But with ebrake disengaged, engine on, in gear, with parking lights on LEDs work.

With engine off, I know parking lights work when set to this mode (amber turn signal and Sidemarkers), but I've always had ebrake engaged to check LEDs.

The only time I've tried to leave ebrake down, engine off, and walk to front was with headlights on to see if the led mod kit worked.

Bingo.

The LEDs are Daytime Running Lights, not parking lights.

Before the pitchforks come out...

The DRL leds are parking lights for the JDM and eurospec models. Daytime lights cannot be parking lights! Call the grammar/word context police!

Long story short, I disabled my front turn signal parking light function. In order to find a way to mod my front daytime leds to turn on half brightness as parking lights, that involves checking the light function with the engine off.

Oh well then can't help you there. No one has found a way to make USDM 10 series or monogram LEDs stay on with parking brake up.

For the meantime we will continue looking stupid with flashing LEDs when we rip that ebrake to drift lol.

Hey everyone, we got our monogram last week. Didn't even know what monogram was. We just asked to test drive an FRS and they brought up a black one with monogram package and 6 miles on it, we loved it and within 24hrs it was sitting in our parking spot.

Correct from factory USDM 10 Series and Monogram ones don't. However for those of us that have led mod kit, or resistors added, they dim when headlights are on (so they also stay on with headlights). This mimics how they dim on the JDM models.

Who the hell turns the lights on when they park their car?

I've always called them marker lights and never called them parking lights. They are there to mark the corners of the car not to let everyone know you are parked.

Which reminds me...why to we park in the driveway and drive on the parkway?
