Cool

I ordered on February 27 and picked up my Whiteout Monogram yesterday! Just under one month and no pre-order! Took a nice drive home along the Trans Canada; I cannot believe how amazing this car is and for this price. She drives like a dream. Toyota has built an amazing drivers' car!

Looking forward to getting through the break-in period and then going above 4,000 rpm and over 80km! Took some nice hard accelerations to try it out and went a bit over the 80km on my drive home, but nothing super crazy.

I had to use my hazard lights on and off on the drive down island due to the 90km speed limit and to make sure no one ran into me because of my slow speed. I had one person follow me for about 30 min. and another person going the other way swerved over the center line because they were staring. Another interesting thing was that a ton of people kept passing and then cutting me off! (jealous, lol) Everywhere I stopped people were staring and asking about it. So awesome! Also, when I went to the dealer they got me to test drive (as I'd never driven an FR-S before) and I new the moment I saw her I had to have her. Test drive I knew as soon as I drove off the lot...

My Celica feels like a tin can with a lawn mower engine in comparison. I'm so glad I waited for the Monogram.

I already got the back out on this thing just barely going around a corner at a fairly good pace. Traction control did not kick it, but man is that a great feeling!

Thank you Toyota!!! GT86=my dream car!!!

Congrats buddy I know you've been super anxious.

I've never heard of the 80kmph rule, and don't remember seeing it here in any of the break-in threads. Does this say that in the car manual? I did the 4000rpm rule for break in and no issues so far.

I just find that hard to believe, cause most cars are built to be able to go on the highways right away, it is just the high rpms to watch out for. I literally took it on a 800km road-trip during the first 1000km because I had too and I was driving 100kmph but keeping it under 4k rpm and changing gears 4-5-6 every 30 minutes.

I dont think it says anything about 80kmph, but my Celica had me do this. Just thought it couldnt hurt. When I went to fill up I followed the dealer and we headed out the highway and I was shocked at how quick I hit 120 to keep up with him. Took a test drive same day before finalizing and I was shocked when the dealer said he could drive if I wanted, and I was like HECK NO!!! I was sold 30 seconds into the test drive.

Thanks, now Ive constantly got driving on my mind!!! Two things on guys minds all the time, SEX and DRIVING!

In the US, the leds don't turn on for us when the parking lights are on even when the hand brake is down.

I can't wait to do that headlight mod, the 100omh resistor was too dull so I have to try again with a 50

False. The DRLs are still fully operational with the parking lights on. It isn't until you turn on the headlights that they turn off.

Strange. My car's DRL leds turn off with my parking lights on and hand brake down or up. Maybe somebody with the port installed fog lights can confirm if the drl leds turn on with parking lights on and hand brake down.

Very strange indeed, this was one of the first pics I took of my car at the dealer before I took delivery. Parking lights w/ DRLs

My foglights were factory, port installed and I can confirm, handbreak down turns them on, side markers and tails can be turn on at the same time with the headlight switch.

Interesting.

Maybe the engine has to be on? Last time I checked, the engine was off. I will have to check again tonight with the engine on.
