I have to say that I think using the spare tire well for sub enclosure and amps is a much better design than molding enclosures on each side of the trunk. Not only do you retain more usable trunk space but you also keep the center of gravity as low as possible. If you're going to add weight to a car with a big, heavy sub, then keeping the box as low as possible is key on a car like this.
I've built many similar setups with the amps and subs all integrated into one, removable piece. I use forklift disconnect plugs for the 4 gauge or 1/0 gauge power and ground wires for a solid connection and easy to disconnect for removal. I also like to use hood latch mechanisms for the mounting points so there are no screws or bolts to remove...just pull a lever and the box releases. Just a few ideas if you ever plan on doing track day events with your car.

Looks awesome - only concern is what happens when you get a flat?

PDX is working beautifully. It's just so much simpler having to use only a single amp to power the whole system. It also comes with plug in power points so makes it a bonus and easy to disconnect.
Bit ten is on the left side of boot behind the carpet in the rear quarter panel. It's screwed into the already existent holes. Quote:
As for your latch idea, this sub/amp box is a mold of the original spare tyre delete foam so it sits in there without any movement at all. No extra holes or anything at all needed. Remove the mesh and two side pieces, then pull out 6 RCA's, 4 channel plugs and power plug and just lift the box out. Easy as that. I never got a spare. Haha. Instead I received a tyre repair kit. So just a little bag.

Subaru road side assistance or AAA. Many of the people doing audio upgrades have also done wheel/tire upgrades also. I know I wouldn't run a spare with 18s as I don't want to mess anything up.

Bit ten is a nice piece that and an Audison 5.1k amp will be my next move on stereo. Currently running a HDP5 Hertz which has served well but soon hopefully up the anty.
Very nice install!!!
