Yeah just listen to the clips above. I never really took any sound clips of it as I just never got around to borrowing a GoPro. To be honest, mine is not representative of the "actual" sound as I changed my front pipe and over pipe as well. Thus, the sound is a little deeper in tone and louder than above.

Yeah from first look it does. My brother actually has the greddy on his FRS. The STi has larger tips, more angled slash cuts, and the suitcase muffler is entirely different (STi has a dual muffler suitcase).

Just went to the Vancouver Auto Show 2014. Subaru displayed a BRZ with STI parts on it. I was happy (first), then sad after, and then back with some hope again.
Here is the story: 1) When I first saw it, I thought it is the 2015 (FZS-01, 6MT - 2.0 Limited) ![]() 2) Then I saw it does not have the 4 pot STI brake caliper, I quickly opened the hood and see if they any changes in the engine bay. Then I was checking and see if there is a STI shocks but nothing at all. My thought was it must be the Australian BRZ-S. ![]() 3) I quickly went to the Subaru booth and asked 2 guys separately. "Hi there, just curious if that's the 2015 Special Edition?". Both guys replied "No, that's a 2014 model, we just added the lip and wheels on it." 4) Then I asked them again, any news on 2015 model? Both of them said no idea for now. ![]() In a way, I feel happy after all because there might be a chance the 2015 special edition has more than this. However, if the guys at the booth doesn't aware that this is a 2015 model. Then, it is quite disappointed. But it is still a pretty car ! ![]() ![]() 2015 STI (not related to this thread) ![]() Cheers ! |

Stock. Those tires are over-sized at 245/45R18, so they fill out the wheel area very well. Actually, too well. It rubs at lock-to-lock. I'm looking at getting Continental ExtremeContact DW 245/35R18 on Bilstein B14 coil-overs. My deadline for the tires is May 1st since studded tires have to be off by then (in Alaska) and it'll cost $200 in shipping to get them here directly or basically free through my job, but that's a little slower/random on arrival. So in the meantime there's a 2013 STI owner with worn stock tires that'll sell them to me for cheap as a temporary solution. Spring seems to have arrived early with this thawing, so hopefully I'll be able to swap to summers soon. Last year it snowed until mid-May, so who knows!? Regardless, you'll notice wheel gap with 40 sidewall and definitely with 35 sidewall since that'll keep the 18" wheels in stock wheel spec for the BRZ, so I'll need coil-overs for a significant drop.

So I've got my STI Sports Muffler installed but my tips don't stick out nearly as much as these YouTube videos or even pix I see on the web (my tips are actually aligned with the rear valence. So if I want them to stick out more, can that be possibly adjusted or is that dictated by my stock downpipe position?
The sound is alright, maybe a tad louder than my taste. I got it for the stainless steel actually not for the sound. My stock muffler was so rusted after only 3000km winter driving. |

I thought the exhaust hangers dictate how far the exhaust tips would stick out in that scenario?
