I feel the same way about it not really feeling much like XMEN since the Marvel movies started rolling out. But I am super stoked to see how they portray the Days of Future Past story.

I wish they would just reboot the entire franchise though, instead of trying to fix things through time travel.

I think one of the best things they could do is adapt and condense the four volume Joss Whedon run of Astonishing X-Men. It was fun and action-packed with just the right amount of camp. Or if they're going to tackle the classic storylines, they need to pick and choose the good ones and do them proper justice (as well as the characters proper justice). Fingers crossed for this one, but it's already lost points in my book since Wolverine is the star.... AGAIN.

The idea of continuity was lost long ago.... There's already so much that doesn't make sense between the original three movies, First Class, Origins, etc. And that doesn't even begin the discrepancies between the comics. I just accept it, eat my popcorn, and enjoy the show. Much the same as I have for the Resident Evil movies that have nothing to actually do with Resident Evil.

I still hope the rights get sold back eventually, so we can see the kind of flowing continuity we get out of... you know... every other Marvel movie today. And it would be amazing to see the Hope Summers storyline on the silver screen. They could easily combine and streamline bits from Messiah Complex, Messiah War, and Second Coming into a well-paced 2.5-3 hour single movie with three distinct acts and follow up with an epic Avengers Vs X-Men crossover movie. How f**cking awesome would that be???
