Personally I dont think the Scion is such a bad deal... but the options I
really want is just not there (( HID & Nav ))... so I have to go Subaru..
stock hid are only 5000k, aftermarket 6000k (200$ the best) with blue tint looks cooler imo, and scion bespoke navi probably 500$

I'm speaking from 1st hand experience. I've sat in the BRZ as well as Mustangs, Camaros & Challengers. From my first hand experience and honest opinion the build quality and design of the 86's interior is way ahead of these American cars.

Being under 2700 is quite impressive in this day and age imo.
Im used to driving 2700lbs car (my car was rated at 2670).
And being in other larger cars, you can definately feel the heft when pushed.

I'm getting so tired of people complaining about the price for no reason. The build quality is way better than a Mustang, Camaro or Challenger. IMHO it looks better and it will drive way better considering it's much lighter and more nimble.
I guess it really comes down to CHOICE ...
straight line performance or fast corners ...
sure this car will probably loose to a V6 in a straight line...
but I really think its okay to be different ...
like how I chosen my Golf TDI over a Prius for Fuel economy & Fun...
I would like to choose the Subaru BRZ over a 370Z for everyday practicality & being a 2+2 Daily-driver.

But no, most people don't think that way. I really hope this car doesn't flop because the majority of people are too hard headed to realize what this car is really worth. This is a forum after all, what do you really expect. A bunch of know-it all whinebags.
The mustangs are a bargain. This is a fair price at best

Depends what GC you are looking at. The base 2.0T will be ~3300 from what I read.

Wouldn't call 600lbs close to 1/2 ton. Not sure about your definition of "almost"

Your point? I never specified which Genesis, it's actually closer to 3600 in the 3.8 if you wanna nit-pick. Seems like you do. If the BRZ comes in at 1-2k over the FR-S it will be in the 3.8 Genesis price range. Nice attitude brah.

2700 is impressive as you said, and I don't think 2500 was ever even implied.

How are you comparing a 200hp car to a V6 with 348hp? Of course the V6 will weigh more. Compare it to the 274hp 2.0T. Thanks.

If you are going to compare it to the GC, at least compare it to the one that starts off around the same price point i.e. the 2.0T. It isn't nit-picking, it is comparing like to like. How are you going to compare the heaviest GC with a 348hp V6 that costs $29.6k to the 200hp FRS at $24.9k? Makes no sense. At least try to be somewhat objective in your comparison.

You can take any criteria that specific and come to the conclusion that any car is the best car

Because I'm not objective at all, I have no reason to be objective. I've driven a Genesis & it felt cheap and overweight. I didn't like it and I feel it's more of a GT car than a sports car. However if you think the Genesis won't be compared to the FR-S/BRZ in all the car mags/online blogs you're delusional. They are going after the same crowd and are at similar price points.

My 2000 Celica GT-S was 24.5k back when I bought it. I think 13 years of inflation and the engineering behind it makes 25k a decent starting point. If 25k breaks your bank, try going out to dinner one less time per month and cancel your netflix!
