Good gains. This looks like a good EL header.

Based on the difference in peak gains (~15%, assuming 152whp stock power), on a dynojet you'd be looking at 190-200whp - pretty good for just headers!

We might be doing a flex fuel setup on this car in the future. It's his daily and he didn't know flex fuel was an option so it's much more attractive that way than gas station hunting. I think we might kiss 200whp on e85.

Here is a stock BRZ (not mine, but done at same location) versus my car tuned.

...
As you could see, there is a 35hp increase at about 4600rpm's and a 39lbft tq increase at 4500rpm's.

Car feels soooooo much better. Throttle response has increased quite a bit and the it just feels MUCH quicker overall.

Here is my car before and after the tune.

...

Tune made a significant difference as you could see. All credit goes to Adam @Revolutions Performance.

And here's all three together.

....

Big thanks to Nameless @Ryan@Nameless @Jason@Nameless for a great quality product that made the car way more fun to drive.

Also want to say thank you to @Revolutions Performance for the tune. Provided great results and exceptional customer service, which is almost more important to me than the tuning. Really appreciate the hard work and the awesome experience. Would recommend them to anybody.

Can't wait to really test it out this Sunday at our first practice event of the year.

edit: forgot to list mods. Nameless EL Header, Nameless 3" downpipe, stock midpipe, Greddy SP Elite axleback, and HKS drop in filter.

Well, i am very disappointed in those dyno results, I personally wanted to see a flat torque curve with more emphasis on 5k and up rather than a mountain of torque that will be useless once you rev past 5,000 rpm. I hope your stock midpipe is holding back the power over 5k and also that the tune in not optimal (not for your sake obviously, but rather for the performance of the header)

Thank you for posting. If I don't see some more promising dyno's my coated header may be for sale in a couple weeks completely un-used.

What? Are you looking at the same dyno graph?

There torque starts ramping up ~3000rpm, up to a nice plateu at ~3500rpm right where I'm sitting on the freeway in 6th gear.

I highly doubt this drives "peaky". There's a torque bump on the dyno at ~4600rpm but from what it looks like this should feel plenty powerful at anything about 3500rpm.

Another way to look at it - look at the stock dip compared to the tuned + header mountain.

I don't think there's going to be any more worries about "torque dip".

I spent a good deal of time trying different cam phasing as well as ignition timing and afr's. I'd say this is what this car has in it. I was a little surprised to see a smaller gain in the top end than I expected but I was really happy with the midrange gains I was able to pull out of it vs the untuned setup. I spent a decent amount of time trying to squeeze a bit more topend power out of it but it wasn't to be had. I doubt the stock midpipe really holds anything back at these power levels. On my car with our turbo kit the exhaust is totally stock after the downpipe and I don't feel like it's really holding us back in the 300-320whp range.

Also, I think the majority of folks going for these headers are looking to eliminate the dip, but pick up a little all around. In daily driving I think most people aren't revving much over 5k. If you are, you are really beating on the car for every last bit of power. To each their own, but I think this piece achieves it's goals very well. We have our own equal length header that I will be testing soon as well so see how it compares. I'm interested to see the results.

If you set your expectations extremely high, then you will be dissapointed. But I don't think a 35hp increase and 39lbft tq increase is "disappointing"

And trust me, the gained power is definitely useful.

But that torque boost @3000rpm is so sexy! Reminds me of the Mazda CX-5 header vs regular SkyActive configuración in the Mazda3.

Interested in seen configurations without stock pieces, but those results are nice looking.

@mad_sb As per his edit this is with the 3" op/fp. So not being held back I wouldn't think. And it's still 9ftlb to the good at 7k. On this heartbreaker dyno.

40 or so intake, tapering off to 4 or 5 by redline. 50 or so down to about 25 on exhaust. As a general quide, I'd say most of the values are within 5-15 of stock, but smoothed out in a lot of areas. I spent a lot of time working on my car when it was stock and tested both intake and exhaust in 5 degree increments like I do the i-vtec hondas. By doing that I was able to develop a pretty good profile for what these cars like and then I can make changes to these base configurations based on modifications that change the VE of the engine.

So the header didn't require anything too drastic compared to your typical stock header starting profile? Interesting! Thanks so much for sharing.

An increase of 12% on the top end doesn't seem too bad from a header and tune.

How much were you expecting?
