After seeing all the sexy images in this thread, I was finally convinced to remove the subaru lettering from my brz.
I used the dental floss method to get the letters off, which turned out to be really easy.
I then started out by simply rolling the majority of the adhesive off with my soft gloved finger, then used Goo Gone on a micro fiber towel to get the rest of the adhesive off.
Then I washed the area with soap and water really well.

As far as I can tell, all the adhesive is gone, but a sort of faint shadow of the word remains
Although it isn't super visible, its kind of bothering me, most because I know its there lol

Is this because the paint under the lettering needs wax? If so, will a quick spray wax work for a while until I decide to get my car fully waxed properly?

Maybe try Goo-Gone on microfiber again (gently... it's a chemical process) followed by rubbing alcohol, and then spray on some Quik Wax. I really doubt you need to clay bar or anything.

And 5 bux says you'll go on to remove the "BRZ" as well pretty soon

Some of the shadow outline is still there, unfortunately, even after a second and 3rd pass with the goo-gone and a quick application of QuickWax.

I'm not 100% certain, but I'm afraid that they might be micro-scratches, since I was stupid enough to actually try using a tiny plastic scraper that came with the goo-gone that claimed to be scratch free, and the guy at Autozone even assured me it wouldn't scratch my paint lol. Only used it for a minute before I realized it wasn't a good idea, but I guess thats all it takes haha.
Not really sure how to fix micro scratches.

Dude, that many birds... that scares me. Even if I didn't have a clean car sitting outside. It freaks me out!

Scratches are definitely possible. The first time I de-badged the "SUBARU" part I used my fingernails on some areas where the adhesive was being really resilient and even that left tiny little etches under certain lighting. I just QuikWax'd and tried to forget about it lol

I originally wanted to keep the BRZ on too but I was ony able to restrain myself for 5 minutes lol I de-badged the subaru, backed it into the driveway and looked at it and was like mine as well go ahead and do the BRZ too.
