Eh, hapenned a couple of time for me to tank for older people/disabled persons... nobody's forcing me to do so it's just a service for those who can't ! Was just very surprise when I found out in some states you can't pump your own..

A little - my fiance loves tripe so she has plenty in hers and inevitably a little bit ends up in mine. It's like the one onion ring you always get with you fries at burger king. Only it's cow stomach.

And remember, while 87 sure ain't 93, the cars are still tuned to run just fine on 91, since it's pretty much the same car sold across the country where 91 is the best you can get at a typical station. So just get the fuel in the tank to average 91 (give or take), and you can drive it how you please. Then as you continue to fuel it, it'll be back to normal. It happened to me once, having accidentally put 89 octane in my Evo. I just babied the car (pretty much never going over 3000 rpm and giving it very gentle throttle input) and burned some gas just doing a lot of city driving through side streets until I made enough room to put in fit around 2 gallons of 100 octane. |

Well I ran the thing almost dry and filled up on 93 again today. Going to baby it for a bit to make sure any 87 in the lines is burned off and then I'm back in the game.
The mileage I got was terrible. 296 miles on the tank 😱 Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk

Same thing happened to me at one of the rare full-service stations in NY. I looked back at the pump about half-way through, noticed he was pumping 87, jumped out of the car and in my panic pulled the still gushing nozzle out of the tank, spilled a little bit of gas on the car and my jeans in the process. Filled the rest up with 93, drove the remaining 45 minutes of my commute reeking of gas, and have never been to that station again. Took a few days before the smell fully left my interior.
In summation, fuck full-service stations. Let the people who obsess over their cars do it themselves. The other 95% of lazy-asses can let someone else fill up their Camry's. |

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong but,
I see people commenting/worrying about the 91/93 octane thing all the time. I know this was not the OP's issue however I'll put in my $0.02. At low altitudes (sea level) you need higher octane (greater pressure, more compression) so 93 is available. I believe that at higher altitudes, Colorado, Western states etc, y'all only have 91 octane max because 93 is simply unnecessary in the "thinner" air. So if 91 is what you see all the time it should be 100% fine in this car as long as you stay at those elevations. Last edited by dpesce; 03-19-2014 at 11:34 PM. Reason: spelling error |
