Mine is August 2013. More than likely that adjustment was the cause of mine, it started shortly after. You both make a good point on taking it to the dealer. I'll post a video this weekend and see what you all think.

Maybe it was the same lady that torqued down the bolt.

Sounds good man. I'm curious how your noise sounds like.

@trevorovert and @JB86'd

I think I found the real solution!!!!

So my sound came back earlier today when driving and I was planning on loosening the bolt a bit more tonight. However when I was showering, I had this idea of tightening the bolt down really hard while pressing down on the clutch. (I just couldnt understand why loosening the bolt made the sound/feel more subtle, but didn't make it go away)

So I removed the nylon washer and made the bolt as tight as I can while pressing down on the clutch all the way (with my right hand). Once I tightened down the bolt as much as I can, i took my hand off the clutch and used both hands to tighten it more until I felt that it was super tight.

I just took a 5-10 minute drive (yes, at 12 am) and I'm super excited to say that I didn't hear nor felt the popping noise at all!! I pressed down on the clutch at least 30 times without a hint of the popping sound and feel.

I will post more results tmrw morning after my drive to work! Fingers crossed!

Didn't work for me.pretty hard to do both at the same time, so if it comes back, I will try it again. But that click/pop definitely has something to do with that bolt.

@BaeK hmm that's strange. I'll give that a shot before doing any further troubleshooting this weekend. Hopefully that fixes it for you!

Did you remove the nylon washer before tightening the bolt?

I hit a massive stop-and-go traffic on my way to work this morning, which lasted for about 30 minutes, and I didn't get a single click.

I was thinking... maybe it's the thin plate of metal (where the bolt head touches) is rubbing against the threads of the bolt when the clutch is engaged. Last night I tried engaging the clutch with the bolt removed, and there was too much play on the thin plate itself.

Wow you guys are a knowledge bank! I had just started hearing this noise of the clutch this morning when I pushed the clutch in to turn the car on. I thought, "Hmmm, that doesn't sound too good...hope it wasn't something I did." I'll give this Nylon washer fix a try later today and report back. I think I'll also try to press the clutch in at the same time. Can't hurt to try both methods to quiet down the "clicky" clutch.

Definitely play with how tight the bolt is. I loosened mine up pretty good last night and haven't heard a click sense. There is a tiny bit of play now, but it doesn't bother me.

I did remove the nylon washer first. And I think you're right. This would explain why your fix would have worked. Same here, with the bolt removed, that plate moves around a lot. Maybe I just need some more torque to get it to work. It was a bit hard to get a solid grip on the wrench while pushing the clutch in

Yeah, I used a torque ratchet with an extension to tighten mine. If you can have someone help you press down on the clutch while tightening the bolt, it should be pretty easy.

Try that out sometime today and let me know how it goes.

I don't have this problem fortunately, but I'm confused by the diagnosis. I don't understand how the hell that bolt clicks when it's tight, but not when it's loose. Sounds so backwards. How can something make noise when it can't move? Are you guys certain it's the bolt that's making this noise and not another part of the assembly nearby?

In my case, the clicking sound/feel was subdued with the nylon washer + loose bolt method. If my theory is correct (that the thin metal plate rubbing against the thread of the bolt produces the noise), it would make sense that the clicking noise is a lot louder when the bolt is tight, but not "tight enough".

It's been 2 days since I went the opposite route, over-torquing the bolt instead of using the nylon washer + loose bolt method, and I can confirm that I've had 0 clicking noise/feel when engaging the clutch pedal.
