Got some used CE28N's 17 x 7.5 mated to 215/45 - 17 Michelin Pilot SS. According to the Tire rack, the tire is 1 lb lighter. And forged wheel and alum lug nuts is a heck of a lot less. Comparing the package of the Wheels + tire plus lug nuts, before and after I dropped a full 8 pounds. Not too shabby, especially on unsprung mass that rotates.

Good choice in wheel and tire combo. Reduced weight, increased grip and tire feel.

What is the offset on the wheels? I'm interested in a +33 set myself.

probably would have been more cost effective (just plain old effective too) to go to some ap racing brakes. would have saved 20lbs unsprung on the fronts for less. i guess its good that you can do that too if its your thing. glad youre happy

Yes, brakes are unsprung weight, but wheels are that and rotating inertia. That is a big deal. It helps all time when accel and decell, street or track. I also needed tires; the stock Turanza's sucked.

I went for years without a garage. My first Winter in the house I replaced the clutch in a Porsche 944, which is a very big job. You drop the rear suspension, rear transaxle, torque tube/drive shaft just to get to the engine. It was all up on jackstands in the backyard in snow. Just dealing with the cold was nuts. i spent years planning out the garage, which is basically a fully insultated 24'x32' cape.

The garage is now full of mtn bikes and tools.

The best thing I did was the Griot's epoxy floor paint.

CE28N 17"x7.5 offset 50 with Nitto NT01 235/40R17 , 1inch drop and -3 camber all around , clear lock to lock but rubbering at hard cornring !!

May be add a 15mm H&R DRS spacer soon !!

Hi guys, im planning to get these wheels but stay stock height, and maybe even go 205/45 or 205/50. Would you say the weight savings alone made a huge difference in DD? (looking to make it more nimble and improve acceleration)

Huge? No. Noticeable? imho yes (hard to judge if it's really noticeable or due placebo effect). There are real gains, but many people argue on magnitude of them, if noticeable.
More nimble & improve acceleration? My advise would be to spend more care with tire choice, eg. 1) don't go too wide, limiting to stock or 225 width max, 2) tires with stiffer sidewalls, so that turn is more immediate/sharper. And gain acceleration with eg. ecu tune (even if stage1 stock header), E85, and maybe different FD.
But, if you are going to change wheels anyway (for eg. looks), it's worth to get lighter ones of course, or at very least, not heavier then stock. If one is ok with getting used ones (even more so if with slight cosmetic flaws eg. minimal curb damage), then imho there should be out many used forged wheels for real cheap.
