- Deep(ish) tone
- Pref. >$900 (but I will spend the money if the part is right...just means save)
- Lighter than stock
- Dual tip
- hopefully torque / horsepower gains

Different note, I ended up clicking the buy button on an AEM intake after seeing one in person on the meet. The Ingen looks similar and I'd rather pass some cash to the people helping me if the price is right and parts are good. Builds on a budget, ya know? So I am looking into that buy as well as weather the company will let me cancel the order after I spoke with CNT Racing directly for the purchase. (My AEM was $289 which is a steal for those)

Also looking into http://www.fteightysix.com/whats-new.../#.UyOfgfldWl7 which look chill but trying to get more information before I pull that trigger.

I do the server build outs and upgrades months after I told you they should have been done because back then it wasn't important.
And I tend to start most of the practice jokes...
Like the guy who sits on the ball... I sent this as mass email saying this kind of use of the copier with no cloths was not appropriate.

Just a heads up you may need to re-scale your maf with the AEM if you do end up with it. I did a quick basemap for a local that was contacted FAT for a tune, he had a CEL for a lean condition and I gave him something to use until he gets on their dyno. I had to add something like 16 or 19% to the maf scale to get hte "majority" of the AFR correct. Looks like AEM sized the intake to where the fuel trims would target leaner AFR's and at idle the fuel trims can max out. Even with the scaling the lower end of the scale was still using fairly aggressive trims. Though I didn't install or inspect for any vacuum leaks either. I am however curious to see if there is some good gains to be had with it!

Sad face! That means I might need a tune. I'm bone stock otherwise and still waiting on seeing if I can cancel the order. Thanks for the information. Any shop recommendations to get that tune in if needed?

Im not saying you "have" to tune. Just telling you what I saw. I think some other intakes are doing this as well but I haven't had my hands on enough of them. It was actualy surprising that the AFR's he was getting after the car's trims had "learned" were pretty close to the target AFR's i use. lol Looks like AEM spent some time on that :P

Im not a vendor on this forum so I cant say that I tune... But a number of local shops can forward you to a tuner if you call Good Speed, FAT, HGH, etc

I think it's safe for others to refer you to locals...

In said case I would tell you Nelsmar is an option for Ecutek tunes he has helped quite a few with them.

I wouldn't want to drive around with a CEL on the vehicle. It would drive me bat-shit crazy not being able to consistently keep it off. I'm leaning on the boards since the last time I looked at a tune chart was HONDATA on a '95 civic in the early 2000's.

If I can get something that'll keep the light off, awesome. If I can get a tune and help a board member / board vendor... Awesome too.

EDIT:: I cannot cancel the order. So the AEM is what I will get and I can also check with @NinjaRxMan who has the AEM. see if he may have advice. It'll still be a few days before I get the part and another few before install. I might just bring it to the Phoenix meet on wednesday and play with it there when I have it.

As always, thank you all for the help. I'd have been at a loss if it triggered a CEL. no other vehicle I've modded has.

A number of people have had problems with CEL and intakes, or stalling issues. It has been hit or miss some have it, some dont. =( The person I worked with for all I know was a unique case! Just trying to help ya out in whatever way I can.

I am wanting to see more intakes tested especially on the dyno! Surely there has to be an intake that will net some real power after tuning!

There are a few options depending on overall plans for the car and cost factor.

The boards have some great information regarding Ecutek, OpenFlash Tablets and BRZ Edit.
A few of us here have run multiple and most are tuned in some fashion. I'm sure you can get some good information from the group.
