I just couldn't see $400 for fog lights!

What is this turn signal stalk route you speak of Zen?

He likely got a JDM kit which the fog switch is on the turn signal stalk similar to the BRZ limited. I believe there is a DIY that has instructions if interested. It does require replacing the stalk.

Thank You, I thought I had looked at every kit available but I guess I missed that one.

Cool

Heard back from the dealer today and my car arrives mid next week!

Questions (to tie me over till her arrival):

#1: Do the LED tail lights light up during the day with the DRLs?

#2: The LSD is standard on these cars correct?

#3: Is the alarm LED bright enough and noticable from the outside that people will know your car is armed?

#4: Should I get the Toyota dealership to install the clear bar & opti-coat? Also what about lense protection, or does the opti-coat protect them?

My local dealer price matched an online site to $315. Pretty reasonable for OEM quality.

#1. No the taillights aren't lit up during the day. If you switch to parking lights ON there is a small led that turns on at the corner of the tail light within the reflector. When you switch to headlights ON the rear taillights light up including the parking light still. And of course they light up bright whenever you press the brakes, along with the 3rd brake light. There is no rear fog light between the reverse lights like the JDM version, it is just a red housing. There are mod kits on how to make this a rear fog, or a 4th brake light.

#2. LSD standard.

#3. Yes, we are talking you need to be standing looking into the driver door. Mine flashes red. To get a hint, it is the same brightness as the rev limit light (I think) just a smaller icon. And it depends on if you get a tint too, which will make it less visible.

#4 Best leave this for those with opti-coat to answer. I have the Scion installed clear bra.

Yes I originally bought the JDM kit offered by Carson Toyota, but they require that you send them your stock turn signal harness. And the kit was $375.... .... Haha I was lazy at the time to look for all the parts and it was a plug and play kit.

When I put everything back to stock to trade my base for the monogram I just swap the stalk with fog light function and harness for a stock one with a member on here. Since I couldn't use the stalk anyway (the base doesn't have auto function). Plus he help me put back oem springs back in, amoung other things.

But if I had known that the wiring was really simple I could have gotten the fogs and benzel for around $100, Stalk for $60 (with auto lights function), and wiring for $10. Around $200 for everything....

Well, to me it isn't visible enough to notify others. It's in the dash so to see that it's armed you would have to be close enough to look through the driver's window. Granted I had a compustar 2way before and the LED is bright. The stock is harder to see unless you're already next to the car.

Also if your lock icon flashes that means it's not on. It should be a solid light to indicate the alarm is activated
