I need some suggestions on how to fix this. It has the Nameless EL headers, 3" Downpipe, 3" Midpipe, and 2.5" Greddy SP Elite axleback. There has to be some science behind this. How do I make the raspiness go away? @Ryan@Nameless Any ideas?

Tuning set up Friday the 21st btw. Hoping to have a new muffler by then that kills the rasp.

OK, everyone keeps saying add another resonator etc... I don't think that will help IF you already have two good ones. I say this because i went down this road already with my fa20club header trying to kill rasp. I even swapped my front pipe for an hks resonated (2x resonators) in addition to the one in the ft86speedfactory catback, made a very minor difference, as in almost minor enough to not notice the change.

What finally cured the rasp for me was the catback, I switched from my custom ft86speedfactory / varex setup to a Q300 catback... I beleive any straight through muffler is going to aggravate rasp on these cars once you change the forward sections of exhaust.

I don't think you can get enough resonator (unless you start going to louvered core resonators) length in these cars to kill rasp when it shows up like this.

That will cut down the rasp ( i think the stock res has a louvered core) but i think you will also loose power given how much the stock midpipe crushes down at the subframe and the internal diameter. Would like to see some before and after dyno's one day... car tuned wtih full exhaust, then swap the stock midpipe back in for a couple of pulls just to see how much of a restriction it is... a few hp i would not worry about but.... Hopefully your but dyno won't notice a difference.

Sounds pretty exotic, I'm sure it's not pleasant for a DD but cool. There's a video around of a brz with a full exhaust from nameless 3" as well that sounds just like yours(see video @ 1'10") at high revs only a bit deeper and throatier. I think the rasp comes from the parts closer to the engine and not the axle back.

In all honesty does an aftermarket 2.5" over pipe help the torque much on a stock car with nothing other than a tune and the nameless header? They seem almost all cause rattling ad firmet issues, I know the stock overpipe is ugly and looks restrictive but a few of us are wondering if the bigger over pipes are worth the hassle?

The easier you make it for the engine to breath the more that pipe becomes a restriction. I see no reason to replace the header and some of the exhaust, but to leave that little crush-bent pipe in there. My Nameless one-piece OP/FP doesn't rattle (stock header though) and had no fitment issues aside from being a pain in the ass to install.

Both of the above videos feature 3" exhaust piping up front, which is a contributor. I think @mad_sb nailed it though.

The stock front pipe will also add back in a cat. No cats = rasp

I just flashed the OFT v1.56 EL Stg 2 last night to replace the early Stg. 1 tune that I was using. Car feels much faster in the midrange now.

Currently have on the car:
Nameless Header
Nameless 2.5" overrpipe/frontpipe combo with cat & helm. resonator
Stock midpipe
Stock Muffler

I plan on trying to run my muffler delete pipe this weekend at the Dixie Tour if I make sound with it on.

Hopefully have some time to do some data logging tomorrow during my ride to south Georgia.
