LOWERING WITH SPRING IN CANADA

Hello eveybody.

I have quick question regards lowering.

I'm planning to lower mine with Eibach Sportline (1.4" drop provides an amazing look )

however Ill just use my stock strut,shock and wheels. Maybe I'll put wheel spacer as well, but that's really a maybe.. no money to handle Coilovers or smth like LCA, Camber correction and those stuff. Any problem will occur with this setup? FRS is my DD (all year around winter and summer). Please comment below if anybody have a same setup as I would.

If you want your tires to last a bit longer since it's a DD, I would do LCAs and camber bolts to get your alignment back

But is it necessary to do all those LCA'a Camber bolts, i would do my alignment after my spring is settle down (appx 2weeks after). So those LCA and Camber correction things are only for tire thread not because of problem with strut or shock right?

Most people do suggest doing LCA and camber correction for anything below 1" drop. Also, you will blow your stock suspension much quicker.

I went with the 1" drop provided by Eibach's other springs. Also, your ride will suffer a fair bit.

It is a good look, but be prepared.

On a serious note, the LCA are very important in my opinion. Otherwise you'll be running with over 2 degrees of negative camber.

He's not debating the LCA's/camber bolts being important, he asked if they are something that need to go on right away to not blow the shocks, or if it can wait until the springs have settled and it's going in for an alignment.

To answer that, it won't harm the shocks at all. You're actually better off installing the LCA's and camber bolts as close to the alignment is possible, if not your alignment could be way worse than without them.

really quick means if you are comparing to OEM set?
OEM set last at lease 8~9 yrs, so really quick means my shock with sportline will last about 3~4 years? if yes then i would grab sportline no problem.

Save up and do Eibach or Koni shocks with the springs. It will ride much better and last a lot longer most likely.

In my experience, just putting springs will greatly lower the life of the stock struts, however you might get a year or so out of them?

Kiss your tires' thread goodbye though, you need to get descent alignment if you dont want premature wear. If I was to lower my FRS front camber bolts and rear camber adjustment kit would go in at the same time, you know how tires are expensive in Canada. You will not save money by only getting springs. Camber correction is a MUST.

1.4" is a very aggressive drop.

anything under an inch is an aggressive drop and alters the suspension geometry.

It's your vehicle, so you can do anything you want to it. Just letting you know that you're going to have severe negative camber in the rears without lower control arms. Also, dampers will be affected heavily and might give out within the first year or two after installation (depends on how much you drive and road conditions).
