Boxer engines do not hate any brand. In certain driving conditions, especially modified, turbocharged boxers prefer a more robust oil than the typical Resource Conserving oils which are designed to shear for fuel economy. Mobil1 0W-40 is an excellent choice for these applications. Mobil1 is the most popular synthetic oil in the world. You can probably point me to a turbocharged boxer uoa on Mobil1 where M1 5W-30 sheared to a 20 grade, but that's not unusual at all. Not so sure that there are uoa's showing excess wear.

There is absolutely zero uoa evidence (that I have seen) showing that Mobil1 0W-20 or 5W-20 is not a good choice in a BRZ/FR-S.

Please post it in the ongoing uoa thread!

Definitely plan too. Hard part is deciding if I wanna stick with m1 this change or swap to Amsoil since I plan on seeing the track a bit coming up (ordered Motul but its not coming anytime soon)
