Well I think I found my oil leak problem. Seems the hose I used for the outlet side to inkjet of oil cooler was the 45" and I tried to use the 34" from outlet oil cooler to return on oil reservoir.... I'm an idiot. wouldn't be an issue if I had double checked the I.d. of the replacement hose I bought as its slightly larger... now I have to pull the bumper off and fix the hoses. At least I figured it out and I may have figured out my laptop issue as well. I removed an antivirus program and then had issues doing logging, as in it said obd request could not processed. I was able to access just a bit ago so we shall see. It is what I get for trying to do the install after work pulling late nights....

may the schwartz be with you....

Kraftwerks Supercharger Owners Thread

I have a small visible leak at the banjo inlet of the S/C oil reservoir. I see a very small amount of the fluid collect on the top lip of the reservoir. The banjos (inlet & outlet) on the Rotrex unit itself seem fine. I can't tell if the bottom of the reservoir or the filter has any leaks, but I keep checking my S/C oil level and still looks to be in the right range. After noticing the small leak I decided to use some Teflon tape on the threads of the reservoir inlet. Then after a little bit of driving I still see a tiny bit of oil coming out through the copper washers and banjo (not sure if the Teflon on the thread actually did anything). When can you tell it is time to try a new banjo or washers?

How tight did you tighten the banjos? It's extremely easy to over torque them and force it to leak

Good question. I guess torqued it pretty good. How much are we supposed to torque them?

Banjo bolts are usually 15-20 ft lbs. not much more than snug.

Yes, you just need to show Delicious your proof of purchase of the tuned kit and you can buy it from them at $200.

That's an amazing, flat WTQ plot. First time I've seen that done on a centrifugal SC.

Enjoy!!
I'll talk to John and see what he'll send over to me. I've seen all of the plots, this is the only one that I asked for because it's all I wanted.. Didn't think I was going to get this many inquiries for other charts.

We spent a lot of time on the dyno. Probably a good 3.5 hours of tuning and then he did a final road tune during our 30 minute test drive.

I'll try to get that baseline map. It was on 93 octane.

In regards to Bill and the Kraftwerks tune, I spoke with Bill on the phone because when we installed the kit, I noticed that there was a 2nd slot I could go into on the ECU. When I asked Kraftwerks what the 2nd slot was, they said there there wasn't another option on their tune and that I shouldn't put my car in anything but the first slot. The 2nd slot on the KW tune, if you guys don't already know is launch control and auto blip. I called Bill to confirm this because Kraftwerks wasn't getting back to me. When I asked what the 2nd slot was, he said "There isn't one". After I told him that's impossible, he rechecked his tune and said "oh yeah, I guess I left that in there". He then went on to tell me that he was releasing a new tune for the kit but I had already had Visconti's tune in mind and I'm glad I went that route.

So for those of you who have the Kraftwerks file on their car, the 2nd slot is launch control and auto blip.

You are correct, ExcelerateRep. There is a hidden second map in the tune that was left in by accident (my apologizes), though Kraftwerks has the ability to completely close it since they are the custodians of the tune. I have no control over this tune.

As for the upgrade we (Delicious Tuning) is going to be releasing a major update soon. We have been testing it for a couple months on our development car and beta testers around the country. This will included options for 91,92,93,94, E85 and FlexFuel tunes on stock fuel injectors.

And finally if you did purchase the tune from Kraftwerks with the kit, we do offer 33% off the upgraded tune. This also includes life time updates for free for those specific tunes and customized for your specifications, launch control, auto blip, flat foot shifting, etc...

Cheers,
William Knose

I'm pretty sure that if you read all the posts what happened would be pretty crystal clear. Nobody sandbagged anybody. KW is locked into the tune they contracted for and decided on their initiative to put it on the market before it was ready. Delicious, even though this is in no part their fault, is offering 33% off his newest tune with lifetime updates. Does that clear it up for everyone?

gmsii is the KW rep on these boards. I'm pretty sure he knows what happened.

That said, from what I've seen posted here, I still think you're right. I'd add that Bill has a KW kit fitted to a development car and has continued to refine the tune. Time can be a real bitch sometimes.

Why not purchase the final tune, and offer it as a free update as a service to your customers? It would be a minimal cost compared to all the other R&D put into the kit.

@Calum, the development car is my own. I thought it was a bit strange that the KW rep would be insinuating that he didn't know what happened. And @csgmike, the kit would definitely pass CARB testing much smoother with the new tune, that's for sure. I'm sure it's three weeks away
