Don't sweat the small stuff, 128km is quite within the normal range.

Very nice, but afraid you might not be done yet.

Congrats Norm. Are you considering? Upgraded injectors, clutch, oil cooler? Are you using Lachute for your install?

My experience

[Edit: The problem requesting a new car is that they had the first one delivered from Mtl free of charge.. Don't know if they do that twice

Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk[/QUOTE]

Mine had 7 km on it. I agree with others that it's not that big a deal, but you could voice your concerns that with that mileage the car appears to have been demo'd a couple of times and perhaps get a few free oil changes out of the dealership to help alleviate your concerns. I would be more concerned about winter not leaving by March 22 when you pick your car up. Congrats BTW it looks fantastic.

Yeah, mine had 11km. (Almost 40K already wow, trying to burn through the warranty period, lol.)

Paul has a good point. See what you can negotiate but I wouldn't walk away from the car.
Your car will get more abuse through the coffee run at your local dealership when you leave it with them for an oil change.

Now let me state that this is my first brand new car and although I understand it is more than acceptable to have some mileage on it, I feel like 128 is a lot (I had hoped to break the 100km myself and also to do Motoman hard engine breaking for the piston rings which seems to stae that first 50 miles are crucial). One more thing is that I remember the salesman at Otto's mentioning (when I inquired) that by new car we meant under 100 km and my salesman (at Subaru Outaouais) even said under 60 km (I don't have written proof but after contacting OPC wondering if there was a law regarding new/demo car that a said statement was as debatable as a written one). I know the car was delivered (not driven) from Montreal as I was lucky enough to cross it (and immediately follow it to the dealership) on the road. I'd just like some advice i.e. am I freaking out, should I ask for compensation or what.... Please don't call me stupid, I'm 19 and no life experience.

/RANT/

I have all of the paper work from the port to the truck that dropped it off at TGS. The receipt off the truck said 10km. The day I picked it up it had 24km. The paperwork signed off by the prep guys had 22km on it.

I told my salesman that I wasn't ever taking it in the snow/salt and that I arranged to have a flat-bed take if from the dealer to my house (a 10-15min drive).

I am pretty sure the "prep" MONKEYS took it to get coffee and lunch a few times and it saw more salt with them than it ever, ever will with me as owner. I was pissed off. I know they have to "test drive" it as part of the prep, but that means around the block or something and then they should hose the fucker down underneath. 24km is a lot of local driving considering the prep area is a block away from the dealership.

They also managed to miss that a lug nut was STRIPPED and couldn't be removed properly. I had the car flat-bedded back to TGS had the stud/nut replaced and the car returned to my by flat-bed. MONKEYS.

Have you asked for no license plate holes drilled on the front bumper? If so, GET IT IN WRITING AND RE-ITERATE IT with your sales rep. My sales guy told me that it was written on all of the prep guys instruction sheets but sure enough, the Saturday before I picked it up, my salesman invited me to come see it in the detailing bay early - I spotted the plate on the front seat and checked the front bumper - sure enough the MONKEYS had drilled the plate on and THEN figured out they weren't supposed to and taken it off leaving two gaping, jagged holes in the grill. I complained and they swapped the grill piece from a silver demo car (sorry whoever bought that one) in the showroom with mine. In the process the prep MONKEYS RIPPED one of the assembly tabs on the bottom of the bumper and noone admitted to it until well after the face - I had to replace the bumper in June for other reasons, but my friend that run the TG Collision noticed it and forced the issue with TGS - they gave me a few free oild changes.

While on the plates, the rear plate plastic nuts on the inside of the trunk were stripped because the prep MONKEYS used their handy-dandy DeWalt impact drills.

So watch the dealer like a hawk - lose sleep, whatever - its your $30+K vehicle and if the prep MONKEYS drive 15 year old Cavaliers TOO BAD for them - but treat our BRAND NEW FUCKING CARS like their dream cars - that's what mine is and it means a LOT to me.

Enjoy your USED car by the way >

Yeah Vlad already told me the no washing thing, and I could tell them about the no-sticker thing, I was just planning on removing them anyways ! I understand I sound stupid, I just wasn't expecting that after being told, but I'll try to see if I could get something out of it (don't really know what since I was planning to do my own oil changes). And regarding the bumper drilling, I have no freaking clue why they'd do that since we're in Quebec, but I'll make sure to specify that when I call to say I'm not taking any extended warranty. Thanks guys

I didn't know Vlad at the time
I doubt you could get away without washing it - they have to inspect for scratches etc before handing it off to you
My salesman, Cory, at TGS actually went above and beyond and washed and detailed it personally (he was a detailed before going into sales) before I picked it up
I didn't pick up on the Quebec thing so yeah you'll be safe with the plate issue on the front

Cory was my sales guy as well and I got the same detail done before I picked mine up.

Since I transferred my plates he put them on for me. I had him drill for the front plate because at the end of the day I need to have one, and I prefer that it is centered on the grill.

Lol at the "Monkeys" but you're right Ken, they don't give a shit about you or your car.
I do my own oil changes and it is still covered by warranty as long as I use the appropriate oil and filter and keep receipts.

The last time I brought my car in to Bel-Air was due to tail-light condensation, and it had extra kms on it when I got it back, no reason they needed to drive it. I HATE going to the dealer.

i don't EVER leave my car un-Attended at the dealer if I take it in. I stand and watch it regardless if it's my FRS or the Dart. There is nothing that either car is going to need to be road tested afterwards to check. But like Andre said, do your own oil changes if your capable, it saves you time and money and headache. Just need to document it.
