If you want to hear it You could remove your OEM muffler really fast just don't do too long of a drive as you can risk damage to the bumper. There was one member who did a track day without his and if i remember he melted part of the bumper half way through the day. Just trying to give you an easy way to test it out.

Do you want to do a full straight pipe from the header back or just axle back? I would give you a ride but I'm in SoCal.

did his exhaust fumes clear the bumper? I can only imagine this happening if the exhaust was being trapped in the bumper cavity

As long as there are no noise laws where you're located I'd say do it. You can get a single exit muffle delete done really cheap by a local muffle shop. Do it without tips just so you can get a feel for it and if you like it go back and do a dual exit or just buy a tip for your single. Shouldn't be more then $100

yes, there are definitely noise laws in north america's 4th largest city.

there are also wife laws, which don't like overly loud things.

I know that some cars sound perfectly fine without mufflers (the Mopar Neon came stock without one), just a nice deep sound

but some sound like farcans, which i want to avoid.

If you mean the SRT4 it was also turbo, which is a very effective muffler already.

Unfortunately, Ontario has no set db limit. If the cop feels your car is too loud you can be given an "improper muffler" ticket, even if the car is 100% stock. You'll win in court if it's stock, but since it's officers discretion that's about the only way you'll win.

again you seem to be missinterpreting my intentions

I dont' want a laud exhaust, any exhaust that would come close or surpas any sound law at all would already be out of the question for my personal tastes

i've driven in a loud car for 4 years and i've had my fill of badassetry

this is stricly a performance item, for which i may oe willing to sacrafice a summer's worth of noise.

Performance wise you don't see too big of a difference unless you're turbo or supercharged from what I've heard. I noticed a small improvement in throttle response but I also added a high flow air filter at the same time. Never dyno'd my car so I couldn't tell you if there's any real gains.
Sorry for misunderstanding.

There's always the Berg dual exit muffler delete if you want to preserve the appearance of your vehicle. I am sure you could find it on youtube.

Youtube clips are pretty much useless in determining how loud it actually is in person unless you have a known exhaust (ie stock) recorded at the exact same time as the other exhaust.
