Added the blue engine cover from Japanparts.com and an STI badge for the rear to go along with the one on the black mesh grille I installed over the factory grille. Not much but added more color to the engine bay to match the subaru oil filler cap and battery holder blue metal accessorires.
I really love seeing all the track and autocross mods being made. I autocrossed and had track days for many years in lots of cars. I have to live vicariously through the BRZ (and FR-S) track racers and autocrossers. Had back surgery and going through chemo, so I just have dressed my car up and not gone for the real performance upgrades. (I finish chemo soon and am OK so no worries besides lack of stamina and back strength.) But here is my list to compile all the individual posts I have made in order of purchase: 1)Factory accessories (blue metal oil cap and battery holder) plus other stuff which are more for convienence than looks. 2)JPM Coachworks Alcantara accessories for the entire interior (only the instrument cover on the dash though) 3)Zeta silver Seat Heater switch cover 4)Diode LED lights for fog lights, back up lights, interior overhead and door lights 5)Smoke colored side marker lights (front fender wells) with LED bulbs (looks fantastic with DGM paint) 6)Factory Kicker Bass module for trunk 7)Subaru JDM Exahaust tips. (Look almost exactly like Catback exhaust tips and almost the same as STI tips just without the logo etched in. (Cost was a bit over $100.00 dollars and they changed the exhaust sound and level quite a bit.) (Could not bring myself to spend 6 to 7 hundred on a Catback for very little gain except for sound. These tips sound very good) Again, a personal choice for the best bang for the buck on my part 8)STI lighted start push button (japanparts) 9)STI Shift Knob, weighted aluminum core with gear pattern and STI logo on top. (japanparts) 10)Black aluminum mesh grille mounted in front of factory grille with authentic STI badge mounted on lower driver side. (I am going for the "Maserati look with the grille and the Alcantara interior) 11)Pirreli P Zero "Rosso" tires. (One size larger, but same profile height) Had these tires on my 2000 RS2.5 with all kinds of Prodrive and Cobb tuning parts on it. They are the best sticky tires I have ever owned that also were excellent in the rain. (Tire rack recommends the P Zero Nero, but I have owned those also and they are more suited to heavier, "touring sports sedans" than they are to this car.) (Lots of good tires out there, I just happen to love Pirelli the best. (Michelins overpriced and slightly overated but sill very good, Yokohama makes a good perfromance tire and several others as well. Don't like Continental tires at all. Guess it is just preference) 12)STI Blue engine cover to replace stock factory black and match my oil cap and battery holder (japanparts) 13)Official "red" STI stick on badge for rear end, under the BRZ factory badge. (from Japanparts) Next item: Tom's LED tailights (was resisting, but can't stop thinking about how good they look!) Last edited by go2brz; 03-06-2014 at 02:25 AM. |

Oh, I fiddle with power connections for non-core components all the time: pumps, lighting stuff, fans, etc. Basically anything that's not a mounted volume or connected to the motherboard.

Got exhaust done today!
Went to local trusted exhaustshop and had them make me a custom axleback piece. Put on a set of the DC Sports exhaust tips I've seen on a few other members cars. Tips were $22 shipped and $110 cash (Uncle Sam won't see a dime of my exhuast work for the axleback).
Last week I got my Yonaka coilovers and have to say that for the $699 I paid brand new from eBay is well worth it. Despite all the hell I will catch for buying them, I think they were a great buy. Got tires on my wheels as well (225.40.18 Falken ZX612) all around and test fitted wheels at "stock height" on coils. Wheels are an 18x8 +25 in front and an 18x9 +25 in rear.

In other news at 7778miles I changed my oil to 0W-20 AMSoil Signture and put on the fumoto valve (so close). The valve will make things so much easier for me, I am excited. I bought the $1 clip to make sure it does not 'spring open' or some garbage. Last edited by t.chk; 03-06-2014 at 04:42 PM. Reason: words |
