Honestly one of the best things you can do is hit up a local skidpad and give them all a try for yourself.

After a good amount of time on the skidpad my determination was to run #4 all the time, street and track(unless I'm tired, hungover, in a bad mood, etc).

basically it turns of all the TC etc, puts it into a diagnostic mode usually recommended if you're on a track. Doesn't disable ABS though

Everything off will let you drift to full potential. I`ve spun out and had no TC or anything kick in. Trying to drift in normal, or sport mode is not going to go good. You will get jerked around real good hehehe. But when pushing the limit, sport mode will let the tail slide a bit more before it get`s it back in line. Just chucking it in to slide it, the system is going to made the car vibrate like hell and pointed in the right direction pretty quick. I tried that too, and it was not pleasent hehehe.

For autocrossing I use option 4 full off. I don't do the pedal dance. Haven't tried it but most reports from autocrossers is that it messes with the brakes.

Looks like I'll have to try the pedal dance next auto X. I've been running with TRAC and VSC off, but have been experiencing when I spun out can feel/hear the brake system trying to do things. Since I'm spinning out that doesn't really bother me since I goofed and the run is ruined, but what I've been encountering is it kills the engine and doesn't restart immediately. Which is a hazard to the next car on course, I want to get going as soon as possible to clear the course.

Assuming you have a manual, this should never happen if you react correctly to the spin -- "both feet in and come to a complete stop".

Besides, the corner workers should be dealing with the cars behind you while you compose yourself and turn the wipers off...
