Good for him for having good grades, though. I just never though I'd see a high schooler get a car as a reward for not screwing up.

This whole thing makes me sound old, but I'm really just 22. ahahah
The sense of entitlement in kids these days is ridiculous. Getting good grades was my "job" at that age, and was in my own best interest if I wanted to have any chance in this society. To get a $28k sports car--let alone any car--as a "reward" for doing my due diligence... puaha yea right

Nope, @ChandlerSwyng, not sarcasm, at all.

I was just trying to reinforce that I feel getting good grades is important.

Good grades in high school will open the doors to good colleges, which open the doors to good degrees. which open the doors to good companies, which open the doors to good jobs, which will offer good salaries, challenging and rewarding work ..... and hopefully happiness in your employment.

All the rest is up to you ..... once you move through the doors ....

Your Uni is extremely cheap compared to ours, My Fiance went to ANU (shes a few years older than me) which i believe is a top school there and she only payed like 13K while i will end up paying 60k and our money is worth a little bit more

23, out of school, and self-sufficient.
This car was a "gift" to me, from me, because I like nice things.

Different systems. You pay more for schooling, but have to pay less income tax.

Different nations, different mindsets!

I'm 16 and i own a BRZ (dont even actually have my license yet lmao) and i paid 50-50 with my dad for a salvage BRZ. I gota scholarship for the highschool i go to so I only pay about 10% of what i would pay for the whole 4 years so I guess some of that saved money went towards my car. I WILL be paying for all the gas and all mods that I will be doing myself. I might get a little help with the isurance because its ridiculously high here in NJ but everything else will be paid by me
