Glad you are ok...
As a healthcare worker... I must warn you. If you don't feel better...a trip to the ER may be justified. Just know, if you are uninsured...you may very easily be looking at a $10,000 (or more) medical bill if you do go to the ER. If they CT Scan your head...it can cost 3-5k. If they check out your C-Spine as well...that is another 3-5k, Just wanted to warn you about that. I do not like these truths that I am speaking, but they are indeed accurate. |

Good thing you are here to type your story! That's great news in itself, if you can learn something from your crash you're already better off. Good recovery man.

Totaled my STI 4 years ago. Most intense thing I've been through. Had a CT scan but came back negative thankfully. My neck is permanent-screwed though but I could have been killed so I guess that's some consolation. Did you have full coverage insurance?

I would get looked at asap so that way you can still claim it under insurance if it becomes something more serious later on. The car sounds like a write off but in reality its just a machine, it can always be replaced. Hopefully it was stock and I'm glad it wasn't as serious as I thought it was opening this thread. good luck to you!

Man, the twins are really getting owned by the rain this season. I just spun out on an on-ramp 2 days ago too, still waiting to hear whether they can fix it or not.
I know that feel of looking at your beloved twin after a crash and feeling responsible for wrecking such a beautiful machine, but all I can tell you is, the car did its job of keeping you alive, and you gotta see it as a tool that can and will be repaired or replaced. We can't be perfect drivers all the time, and that's why we have insurance. Think positive and take it easy this weekend... this, too, shall pass! Good luck

Even small accidents can critically injure a person. You walked away from this one and you can thank your car for that. Your car can be fixed or replaced.

![]() I am someone who works with brain injuries, here are some tips: Did you ever lose conciousness? If you are having headaches, vomiting, vision changes, clear drainage from nose or ears, trouble with walking or moving, feeling super tired or sleepy after the accident or slurr speech confusion/disorientation/memory loss (remember to stay with family to check you) go to the ER. Most important thing is your safety and health.. Cars are replaceable. Get well soon. Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk

Sorry to hear about your accident. As others have voiced, the important thing is you are alive and well. Get checked out and appreciate the the work the Subaru/ Toyota engineers have done.

I feel ya buddy. I remember my first wreck...it was when I got dumped on Valentine's Day. Yeah, that really sucked. But it's all behind me now.
As an athletic trainer and physical therapist. Head injuries should screened by an ER or neuro MD no matter what your symptoms are. Brain injuries and potential neck injuries are nothing to take lightly. Please keep us posted. Best regards. |

It's all too familiar that feeling of losing your ride, especially for some petty reason. I always tell people how I lost "Alisa" to a couch that was in that fell of a truck in the middle of US-50. This was my baby when I lived in the east coast. I drove her cross country when I moved to Norcal, autox her, and even crossed the Golden Gate Bridge and the Chesapeake Bay Bridge–Tunnel.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() But most important you walked away on your own two feet. Life goes on. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() My new car is named "Melissa". Completely different from what I used to drive but for the most part my automotive lifestyle hasn't changed too much. Being in car crash is a particularly stressful, but it doesn't change the love for the drive. I wish for you the best and a speedy recovery. |
