@JRitt

It's been some time since I updated the post but here's where I'm at as of today. I think you have the most informative video I have seen on the net regarding this topic. I found it quite beneficial. It's tough to get the job done on the streets of LA without getting involved with the 5-0.

I tracked the car this past weekend and was pleased to find that the squealing was much improved after the event. The brakes did not squeal without being engaged by me and even then the squeal was quiet. However this did not last and yesterday the noises were back to their old ways. To explain, I can hear squealing while cruising at 30mph without touching the brake pedal and of course louder upon brake application. Im not sure there's much else I can do. I think the compound used in the XP-10 pad simply requires operating temps that is tough to achieve on the street on a consistent basis. Carbotech does state on their site that these pads are not recommended as a daily driven street pad and i would have to say the same if anyone ever asked me about this pad.

If you have anything to share that would be great...thanks.

Thanks...glad the vids were helpful!

Yes, XP10...or any race compound for that matter are going to be very difficult to keep quiet at cold temps, and they'll scrape the discs clean very quickly. Your only option is to run a milder pad on the street if you can't live with the noise. Or, just turn your radio up louder.

Been on 4 compounds 800HC xp10 on stock rotors. On the AP sprint was on DS2500 and then carbo 1521.

No matter how I bedded any of them, for daily driving, not getting any heat in them resulted in bedding layer to be gone. All make a ton of noise, no matter what. Back on stock pads and brakes for street driving. done deal.

As a proud subscriber to your YouTube channel, I'd like to know how your 86 build is going. You and turbowski shenanigans are missed!
