Any issues with Hoosiers on a completely stock BRZ for autocross?

I got a used set of Hoosier on the cheap. I wasn't planning on running Hoosiers, and probably won't but for an event or two. What issues might there be with running Hoosiers on a completely stock BRZ? I know some cars can tip over and shit.

A3S05 is the model. They are a few years old, but seem to have quite a bit of tread, with little shoulder wear. They fellow I got them from said that he used them for a few events, and had them stored. For $150, I took a chance. I'm not sure if-when I'll ever use them, frankly.

The reason that I ask about "tipping", is because I have heard stories of other types of vehicles doing so while using slicks.

Those are getting up there in years, they've been discontinued for a while, but stored appropriately they may not be too bad... if they weren't stored well they'll just be large hockey pucks. Either way, no harm running on them.

unless a car has a high CG and a small wheelbase, something upsets the car (like hitting a curb or weird undulation in the road), or something on the car fails, you won't tip a car over autocrossing, even on a set of hoosiers. Some cars regularly lift a wheel or even 2, but to get a car completely over takes much more than that.

I also have a Focus ST. They get up on three wheels with stock tires. With Hoosiers, they look scary. I recently saw a video a guy almost tipped one over. I figured I'd ask.

I'll be running the A6s this year on mine. I'm not the least bit concerned, outside of freak incidents like broadsiding a curb after a huge, very high speed slide. The car's CG just isn't high enough, and even if you could get two wheels up just on tire grip, there won't be enough energy to finish the rollover once one of the drive wheels are up in the air. I've seen cars carry an inside front high enough to clear the cone they're driving past, the most dangerous part of that is that you might die laughing.

500 abarths, and other tall hatchbacks are more likely, but even then, they need a lot of help.

Where you might place concern, as will I because its an unknown for me with this car is how long the stock shocks will handle it before they start leaking/failing. Some cars' shocks last a long time with the extra stress, some only a few events. I don't know which one this car is. I'd like to get through the first season before needing to replace them.

i ran my completely stock FR-S at Nationals in 2012 on 245 A6's. no problems.
well, other than i was a lot slower than the rest of the class...

i do not see a problem with the A3S05's other than it will take several runs to
wear through the hardened rubber to get to any soft rubber that may still be there.

The 86 has such as silly low CG it'd take a pretty big event to upset it THAT badly.

Yeah no issues running race tires on a stock car, the shocks will be fine too. A3S05 is ancient at this point though.

It will do more than hold its own with just slicks. My car was stock here and we just tossed on our race tires and wheels. It was a ton of fun and shocked a lot of people. From what I remember though the rear was pretty loose!

u don't need hoosier to run...they are too much for stock no power

I didn't ask if I needed Hoosiers in order to participate in motorsport activities. Thanks for playing though.

Lateral grip has nothing to do with power.

FWIW I also had no problem spinning up sticker A6's off the line on my completely stock BRZ right after I got it 2 years ago with no other modifications.
