The squirrel finders definitely need to be adjusted and I completely agree that a full retrofit is the way to go. I would certainly like more width in the beam. Id also really like to black out all that chrome. Nonetheless some people don't have that in their budget or want to pull apart brand new headlights... Eventually I'll get there but for now I'm happy. I actually had to ask the mechanic for the luminosity test because it was mentioned earlier in the thread.

If some of these claims were true I feel like I would have had a negative experience with this conversion. My hid kit has been installed for a few months now and I am extremely happy with it. Isn't that all that matters?

Technically, HID kits are illegal at the federal level. Used to have to do some serious tricks to get them through customs.

These days, not so sure, probably just because they don't enforce it.

You haven't gotten pulled over and you passed inspection for the same simple reason the cop didn't pull you over when you were clearly speeding.

Being happy is NOT all that matters. I could be completely happy running around with 4 HID offroad lights on the front my car, but it's not very safe for everyone else now is it?

I'm doing a fair amount of research and I can't find any law against installing an hid conversion kit. As long as you have projector lenses that will give you a proper cutoff line (halogen or not). As I mentioned earlier as well, how was I able to pass inspection? The mechanic actually thought they were stock at first. He also went on to say they were perfectly aligned and passes the luminosity test just fine. I really don't see what all the fuss is about.

How was he actually testing the headlights? I've yet to see a shop that even has the proper equipment to do the test.

Funny, earlier in this thread you simply laughed about the squirrel finders being an issue. That's the entire reason we've even had this entire convo...
