@Luis_GT basically describes high-end valving of an Ohlins shock, but wants to pay half. If Bilsteins were out a year ago, I'd buy them instead of the Konis I have which aren't terribly harsh and ride smoother than stock everywhere EXCEPT in rebound on potholes. To get that performance back while being able to increase sportiness everywhere else I don't think there's a shim stack/valving outside of the $2.5K+ area. It's just physics, just like how there isn't an air compressor (turbo) that's WTF awesome down-low with amazing transient response AND awesome up-top AND cheap.

I never said I wanted better track performance, my car is 7 months old an the only track its hit is the drag strip, i want a plush ride with a slight drop (1-1.5") without using stock shocks and lowering springs, but that it keeps the oem characteristics.

You should really learn to read before adding non-sense to what i said

You really need to search what stance is... a 1-1.5" drop is far from stance...

If you want a 1.5" drop and no increased "track performance" which we all call "performance" then you don't need "without using stock shocks and lowering springs." Learn to understand suspension before spewing non-sense about you how want the car to perform.

There is nothing that feels better than stock under $1500.

right... so you mean to tell me that the $700 Coilovers I have in my bmw are not physically possible since they gave me a 1.5"drop and a better ride than the oem sports spring

I love riding in this supposed unicorn magic you say is impossible

What does your 12 year old 5 series have to do with a modern Japanese import?

(The answer is "nothing")

It's your money bro, do what you want. Next time I go out for a smoke I'll adjust my stiffness down and enjoy the cruise home.

You have yours stiff, cool, I don't want stiff...

I will say the reason I dont want lowering spring with stock shocks...

With the gc kit I was bottoming out the shocks with just a 5/8" drop... felt great over bad patches of road, I would even dare say that it felt smoother even with 440lb springs... however, it bottomed out very easily over large dips.

so your suggestion that lowering springs is the way to go is flawed.

Ask the pros, but leave out your $1500 qualifier and see what they recommend. There is nothing that has everything you want at the price point you want, I can guarantee that. Now we can move on to something truly off-topic instead of car related garbage.

Soon you'll catch up and probably be able to out run my time.

I need to start balancing heavy lifting and cardio into my routine.
