Crap... I just got my hands on new wheels that Enkei discontinued, so my 18x9.5 RPF1's in SBC are now for sale.

Ugh, modding is addictive.

It's still possible to reserve the other two post lift and have all three reserved.

dAmn! We could just do it at your garage tomorrow if you want. It would make it easier + we could have all day to work on it.

Harbor freight ftw on torque wrenches. Cheap and if one ever breaks, they replace it free.

It will be $40 / hour, we can reserve the 3rd lift if we want, but that will increase the charge to $60 / hour. Based off what I see what we are doing to our cars, I do not foresee necessarily needing the 3rd lift.

Edit: they have the tools to compress the springs so no problem there!
Okay, I'll be there. Looking like I may not get my OFH in time.. does this affect the need for more lifts?

Possibly? It seems that Yellow13 has quite a number of things to install, I do not know how many of them need or benefit from a lift. DTS needs to remove coilovers so I am thinking that would be easier on the two post lift as opposed to the one you drive onto (need the wheels to be unsprung after all). Same deal with Missbrz, she needs her wheels unsprung... anyone changing fluids would want the 4 post lift as it keeps the car level. Why don't we start a list of what kind of facilities we all are going to need for our projects... I can alter the reservation at any point even hours before the reservation starts. Also keep in mind we only have 4 hours as they close at 9.

1) Turkish -- 4 post lift: 15 - 30 minutes estimated -- any lift or flat bay: 15-30 minutes estimated
2) Trevorovert -- any lift: 1.5 hours
3) Missbrz -- any lift 3 - 4 hours
4)

I'll put mine down as "Doubtful" - 4 or 2 post lift - 1.5 hour sestimated

So I ran into Turkish at the last Autocross in San Marcos. Wish he would have stuck around for a ride along I would have spun the car out just for him lol. There were a lot of twins out at the course this last time.

So when's the next meet that isn't cars and coffee? I'm thinking about a TexMex86 at Chuys...

I left to go get lunch and then decided to go on home. I appreciate the offer though. I did get the itch and I'm registered for the 3rd autox, the one after Harris Hill back at the San Marcos airport.

As for another meet at a Chuy's I am certainly down for that. A centrally located Chuy's would probably work best as we have people in every which direction here in Austin.

Springs are like coilovers without top hats. You'll remove two strut bolts in the front, undo the clips holding the brake line, and loosen the top. You also want to loosen both sway bar endlinks on both sides st the same time.

The tricky part is having an open ended ratchet with hex keys to remove the top hats. This is where you want to compress the springs to keep them from shooting off. Once the top hat is off, you can have some push down on the spring while you put the nut back on the strut that tightens it down. That's basically it for the front.

Rear isn't too bad. Loosen up your lower control arm bolts before lifting. You need to remove your trunk liner to expose the struts. Same story, sway bar end links, two strut bolts, brake lines. The kind of pain step is getting the strut out of the LCA, but with a little force, its not too bad. You may want a second person to hold the strut while the nuts are loosened on the top to keep them from hitting the ground. Otherwise, put something soft to catch it. Overall this takes 3-4 hours realistically, but may be faster with more people and experience.

I may show up Thursday pending nothing comes up. I'll gladly help out, bring some tools (I have all necessary suspension tools) and hang out.

I don't have anything to install yet. I have new wheels, and KW V3's that haven't shipped yet and Whiteline LCA's with Whiteline toe arms in my living room.
