Nothing crazy but im pretty sure I could hear it increase in loudness.

Stock exhaust you won't hear a thing other than some boost down low in the revs.

Maybe that's it - I have a header and catted frontpipe, but I'm still on the stock catback. The only time I hear anything different from before is in the split second after I let off the gas after the system has been on, there's a very faint "wooshing" sound.

I hear the compressor spooling, but no change in exhaust tone or volume.

I'll just pass along as well that my Camry (beta tester), doesn't make alot more exhaust noise (nothing noticable from inside the car), but it does "hiss' alot more from the exhaust pipes, as noted in my tire-burning video. My exhaust system is already quite heavily modified, but with quiet running in mind.

I notice the car sitting on the lot like nothing has been done.
I go home and call them to see if the car is done.
The service guy handling the case can't be found. He will give me a call.
The service guy calls and says the car isn't done.
He says he didn't know it but the Toyota rep came by to drive the car to make sure it has a problem. To this point they haven't done anything to the car.
The Toyota rep agrees the transmission is bad.
The car may be fixed tomorrow.
I'm sure the rep noticed the ESC and noted it on my permanent record.
I AM SCREWED.
im sorry to hear that but y would you take the dealers word?

dealer tried to screw me. dont trust them. they told me before i bought the car that i could put an intake and exhaust and it wouldnt void the warranty. thats not what they told me when i brought it for its first oil change. they told me that it would void it just putting an intake or exhaust. not cool.

so dont trust them anymore. if u want to keep warranty then unbolt everything and put it back to stock. or just leave it stock.

they tried to tell me when i had my trans replaced that 5th gear was ruined because of drifting in 5th gear and took pictures of my tires to send to corporate. lol where the hell could you drift in 5th gear? and with the stock 200hp in 5th? lol yea right. so they showed me that they went out of their way to try and DUCK me over. those Mother Duckers! so watch out or youll pay. and DONT TRUST THOSE DUCK HEADS

@WNDSRFR

Why would you take your car in with ESC installed? There are hundreds of stories on the forums of people being denied warranty work because of mods. That's the biggest benefit this kit has, you can return car to stock in 15 min. Toyota may deny your transmission, "because FI." You'll be lucky to have any future engine work done under warranty.

No everything is OK. The Toyota guy is cool with it and so is the dealership. In fact I can just see the smiles on their faces the first time they stepped on the gas! And every time for that matter. The new transmission is great! No more skipping fifth gear afraid that my wrist might be vibrated off.

Its been my experience that Toyota Service reps and their managers are pretty forgiving when it comes to mods, unless there is a direct connection between what you have modded and the problem. So the ESC is not directly interacting with the transmission (other than creating more power, but far less than the maximum tolerance for this tranny), so they are not very likely to try to tie one to the other.

Also, from what I have heard, the Dealerships make more money for doing work under warranty than they do from charging the customer directly, so they are inclined to lean towards warranty repairs

That hasn't been my experience. From what I understand manufacturers usually screw their dealerships over when it comes to warranty work. Of course, every manufacturer/dealership is different.

I just recall a Toyota service tech friend of mine (worked down in Dayton, last I heard) back a few years ago when the Tacoma rusting frame recalls were happening. He said they got as many in as possible, since the dealership got a fixed amount of money for each repair (based on service time and materials). However, they could finish each truck in a fraction of the time that they were given, so it was a good profit for the dealership. As I understand it, warranty work works under a similar system. If you have a good service staff, warranty work can actually be more profitable for the dealership.

Good point, I'll say instead that a dealership is (in general) more likely to make a larger profit off non-warrantied repairs. Definitely not 100% of the time given your example.

Here's an old turbo that's been laying around. Notice the compressor blades are "doubled". I wonder if this would be a more efficient design than the more modern approach? I bought it from government surplus years ago with the intension of one day making a turbine engine with it. It is brand new never been used. The data plate says it was made by Schwitzer in 1964.
