Door speaker vibrations? Subaru BRZ
I don't know, if that's how it was, but after driving around in loaner Mazda 3 with bose, I started playing with audio adjustments. I usually play music loud, but decided to play around with bass etc setting. Went back to "preinstalled" profile, and seems like speakers vibrate in doors now. Kinda start to feel like an old car atmosphere when driving. Did anybody else experience that with stock setup?

Remove the door panel and then the speaker grille. Remove the drivers door power window switch plate and fit some dynamat (or equivalent) between the door panel and lower door trim. I did two layers and this solved the rattle.

Did your door switches rattle or the entire switch pad? It's occurring on both of my doors. The speaker covers seem to be fine.

It's the door switches for me. Stops when you put pressure on the plate, so I know it's that on mine.

Mine buzzes when I always listen to AM talk sports radio… The guy's voice sometimes hits a frequency to makes it vibrate. Any idea what part of the speaker/grill is buzzing?

Put dynamat or equivalent in all the nooks and crannies of the door and window switches. I did that along with silicon/caulking. It now takes a lot of bass to rattle anything. I had to remove and reinstall the door cards a few times to completely get rid of all the rattles but it's OH so worth it. One of my best "mod".

mine does. Dealership fixed it by adding insulation on the panel. I can still hear it tho. looks like they need to add another layer.

I took mine in today with the same problem and they fixed it (for now) by adding a felt/ tape layer in between the window switch module and the plastic decorative piece it snaps into. Havent heard anything yet but im keeping my ears open.

IMO Dynamat is overpriced, but there are other brands of similar products that don't use asphault. |

Just took the door panel off to fix this. I used 3m tape and put it between all interfaces between the speaker-grill/window switches and the door. Also, the actual switches/box they sit in has some play, so put a little in there as well. Whole process took about 45 minutes. Hardest part for most will be removing door handle inserts, but mine where already off from previous project. No more rattles, but waiting for a little cooler temps outside to be sure. |
