This looks great man, thanks for the photo.
Are you dyno tuned? wonder if the switch to this box will make any difference. Did it change the sound at all? How far back does the airaid box come? Seems to be close to the oil filter, wonder if there will be issues with the oil cooler I have. Could just be the pic though. |

Both 93 and e85, although e85 seems to be a bit smoother all around.

![]() At the moment I have stock injectors and pump. Also, it is being worked on now to get DW700's in there, DW pump, 3 bar map and tuning for the whole shebang on pump (92). Once that is done, I will have an e85 map built. I'll let you know how the cold spot between 2 and 3k feels after that. Even if it doesn't change much, I don't care since it is not detrimental to the car and I have noticed this car is clunky all around anyway until it is fully warm/hot. |

I have run my kit with the Airaid box from the start, so I can't comment on the difference in sound, but I did test it without the lid and it was so loud I put it back on. To me the whine was annoyingly loud. Some may like it. The Airaid flows more air than stock no doubt. Bill is working on the tune to see what gains can be had with this combo. He already made 200whp with E85 and this intake, so it's looking good. I might be running the Chase Bays oil cooler soon, hoping it will fit with the Airaid air box. |

log the cold start and see what the fuel trims are. if you have a drivability issue that only exists for the first few seconds/minutes after starting it's likely fueling error on the port side (it runs 100% port injection shortly after starting).
i had a similar issue with my first protune and this was the cause. |

Yes, the common problem people have spoken about, from a dead stop or very low RPM throttle acceleration between 1k-3.5K does have some surging. I have been revising the tune in this area over the past few weeks and getting close to finalizing it.
Currently I do have the Airaid Box on the vehicle (that is it besides the supercharger) and it definitely has the effect of making everything more responsive including the surging. So dialing in the tune for the AirAid has it's benefits. But I will install the OEM box back on for final verification. Also working on the cold start as I do get about a 1-2 second sputter on start ups, well use to. With some slight adjustments it seems to be improving this considerably. So getting close to an update release. With the main focus on low RPM drivability and no change in power. Also as another update the AirAid box can literally be bolted right on, with no tuning needed on these tunes. It is definitely a great system, and not sure why it got so much bad press early on, as I have yet to experience any problems on three different boxes I have tried on our development vehicle. (We wanted to make sure there wasn't some fluke good one) Lastly, we are working on MPG on partial throttle to see if we can improve the overall MPG. And I have made some decent improvements in this arena also. Be on the lookout. Cheers, William Knose |
