I'm starting to think I need a dashcam pointed at the interior of the car that only runs when it's parked.

Although it stands to a reason a regular dash cam may have spotted the thief if they walked in front of the car.

I found through trial and error that the number 30 fuse needs to be pulled in order to render the car inoperable. Now it'll make a lot of noise but not go if they try and take it before I get new keys/reprogram.

That sucks dude. I've never had a place broken into but you can leave a note on your car/door saying "I have you on camera, I know who you are, So please leave the keys in my passenger seat otherwise i'm calling the cops in a week."

My buddy did that with his STi. "he had lojack so he didn't care if they started the car" Just alerted the authorities.

Before the week was up the keys were sitting pretty in his passenger seat.

I'm going to try this method before I make the move to rekey the car.

Nothing else to update so far other than insurance can't cover the cost of rekeying the car until it is actually stolen.

You can get a wireless webcam for about $150 and configure a PC to record all video when motion in the field of view is detected.
I use Linksys:

Get a bug finder and make sure they didn't tap your house. Easy way to monitor your next move..

Whoa, much paranoia. Such distress.

Considering that they were rummaging around medicine cabinets and looting through all my old empty pot jars from college, I highly doubt they had time/inclination/know how to bug the house. Also, my roommate definitely walked in while the intruder was still at the house. The katana we thought had been stolen was found two days ago on the side of the house. They most likely ran out the back door when they heard someone come in, then ditched the sword on the side of the house and made their egress from the property. If they had really wanted to be sneaky car thieves, they would have searched for the spare keys and not tossed the house to make it look like no one had been there. Thanks for the concern though.

UPDATE:

May have a suspect vehicle. Silver Honda Accord (partial license AxU223x) spotted once when I was taking the trash out Sunday after this happened, then again by the neighbors this early this morning. Both times scoping out my driveway. Has already been reported to the police. Hopefully something comes of this.
