I've double, tripple checked the car in Subaru JP.

I stand corrected. It is Impreza G4 EyeSight.

For anyone wondering, they admit that the "all new engine" quote is incorrect —it's still the old one.

I'm still left wondering what Subaru will do with the EJ in the STI. They have to be looking at something else... It's not a bad engine but it's 2014.

Looks so sexy to me. I've always loved STIs. But I don't want an EJ257. The EJ257 is so 2004, like when I had my first STi.

Based on a piece in Autoblog today it looks like the NDA on reviews comes off next week.

thanks for the video. Weak though, Q50s does it in 5.2 seconds with only 4-6k more with much more refined luxury

Q50S RWD is $43.5K and Q50S AWD is $45.5K while the WRX STI is $34.5K base. I'm not sure I see your point.

Weights in their respective order: 3,675 lbs, 3,849 lbs, 3,386 lbs (3,444 lbs for Limited).

Horsepowers in their respective order: 328, 328, 305 (305).
Torques in their respective order: 269, 269, 290.
Weight (lbs) to power (HP) ratio in their respective order: 11.20:1, 14.31:1 (LOL), 11.10:1 (11.29:1).

Two completely different cars that no one in their right mind would be cross-shopping. For comparing a Q50S, go look at the German sedans to be taken seriously. And 0-60 is a useless magazine racing metric anyway.

seriously, I am cross-shopping on those two, and to be honest Q50 Hybrid AWD can pull 4.9 0-60 all day long.

It may be 10k more, but take the STI do the tune, upgrades, and you are almost out 10k, without luxury.

STI will hurt ya back to DD it every day, Bumpy pavements = BADDD

Q50 is different, it is in the sweet spots of the two.

Dude, what upgrades? More power to get 0-60 times down? I don't think you quite understand... the STI will outrun it everywhere except the 0-60. Even in a 1/4 mile if that's your thing.

Q50S Hybrid AWD: $48.5K, 360HP (net), 4,145 lbs, 11.51:1. You're now $14K more than a base STI and you're weight:power is STILL not as good. 0-60 seems to be the only thing that's important to you when it's a useless stat.

"STI hurts my back, I need luxury!" Seriously, why are you even looking at the STI? You want a Q50S, go look at an A4 or something.

Hmm.. Corvette Stingray isn't much more than a Q50S. Q50S is weak.
