In retrospect, I don't think I'll ever buy another car with a push-button start.
Where a traditional key makes it easy for you to switch back and forth from Engine on to Accessory, the push button doesn't allow you to choose directions, forcing users to cycle through mode by mode (i.e. it could take 3 button pushes to accomplish something you could've done by twisting the key once). This becomes a problem in the real world - for example, if you were talking on the phone to someone via bluetooth, and park your car, you either need to leave the engine on until you finish your conversation, or pull out your phone, continue the conversation and turn off the car (whereas on other cars, you could just turn the car to ACC mode and continue the conversation without doing anything else). Couple this with the horrendous lag for the audio/navi to boot up, and it's a real inconvenience. I've also had an instance where I thought I had stalled (lights came on, engine sputtered), and hit the button hoping to quickly start up again - instead, I ended up turning off the car when it didn't stall (thankfully it was at a stop and the person behind me was very patient). Not only that, but this car doesn't have much storage space as it is - the push button takes up some more real estate. If I could order a BRZ with the heated seats (for the wifey), climate control, and alcantara leather, but no push start (I'm ambivalent about the fogs and the spoiler), I would have. |

Sounds like most of your complaints are specifically about the way the BRZ handles accessories when shutting off the car, which I completely agree with. |

No, you're right - that is a specific situation raised as an example. Definitely up to personal preference. Me, I think I'd prefer to turn the key myself - although the keyless entry part is fantastic (i.e. not having to fudge around for the key in your pocket). |

As for the thread, I didn't like the knobs in the center console on Premium. That was the major reason why I got a Limited over Premium. Got the Limited for like 26k, so it was a no brainer for me. Good enough deal for me to just get it. It's cheap as hell for an incredible driving car. |

Seriously, poster above gets it - I want to roll up to where I'm picking someone up, turn the car off, and not have to wait 17 minutes for the damn head unit to boot up. I like the keylessness of it though - if there was some middle ground where the turning mode selection of the key was retained, but became keyless, that would be perfect. To answer the OP, I have a limited and a large part of me wishes I went with the Premium. I would have saved money, and I could have added the OEM HID headlights myself later.

Same here. Before I got my Limited, I drove my friend's premium. I was not happy with the cheap look of the interior. Almost to the point where I doubted ordering a BRZ. Got my Limited, and looked 100 times better. Needless to say, I was relieved.

YES HIDs plus the cloth seats are a winner... I didnt like the leather/alcantara seats that the limited had. I got lucky and found a premium with fog lights so from the outside it looks like a limited.
