Plasti-Dip Interior Trims
I really don't like the silver trim in my interior, so I am plasti-dipping. These sprays are very noob forgiving I must say. You can peel it off if you mess up or you don't like it, so it's not permanent.
Just testing out on small trims before moving onto larger one. anyway this is with 4 black coat (2 light, 2 heavy) w/ red metalizer...came out more purple-ish than red. It's a lil too girly for my taste but what do you guys think? and if anyone else have plasti-dipped their interior trim, I would like to see. I've seen black, I thought they blend in nicely!

I think you should get the red plastidip and then spray on some of the red metallizer. I think the metallizer just gives it the metallic effect. Haven't done my interior yet, but I'm going to wrap it with carbon fiber vinyl

I have tried that...so on the left its w/ 4 black coat, 1 red coat, and then red metalizer...didn't really like it. i was going for more of the black look w/ maybe just red flakes

I'm planning to wrap the silver panels in suede similar to the alcantara on our seat.

my only concern would be that stuff peeling off prematurely and that would most likely only happen in areas of high traffic i.e. your door handles.

Anyway I do think these Plasti Dip are more durable than we are giving credit for...after all ppl dip their entire cars and rims which imo go thru more harsh conditions than our interior trims. |

Remember the stuff was originally marketed as a multi-purpose rubber coating. It wasn't until someone tried spraying it all over their car that the general populace thought of it differently. Before then folks were repairing the rubber handles with it.

My wife is a fashion designer. She said she can measure and cut the stuff for me. I'll probably use some sort of spray glue or something to hold them in the back. |
