LOL, that maybe true, but there just isn't much of a draw for people to come to Iowa. Iowa Speedway in Newton would be a great venue and we have contacts there, but there wouldn't be much else to do and possibly not much vendor support, as well.

Either way, we'll be making the trek to whichever city is decided on!

When you guys say Boston & New York. You guys really thinking of place that can be done? Space for over 100 cars, plus vendors & ppl, cruise, autox or track, travel around without getting stuck on traffic (to certain level). If you guys say "Oh use blah blah blah stadium parking." Please PM me the quote for one day rental. Cuz when you see how much, it's mind blowing.

...or just lazy & don't wanna drive more than few mins from where you live?

Planning these kind of event takes over 40hrs a week searching & coordinating... Which means, I'm doing over 80hrs a week of work (IRL work plus this).

So think a bit before you guys posts Boston, New York or other big city areas.

Gillette stadium as mentioned has big meets on a regular basis that are free to attend. There are a ton of great restaurants and shops there now as well. Perhaps someone here has a contact they can get you in touch with.

I support this, and not for purely selfish interests!

After all, all roads (and airways) lead to Atlanta.

Atlanta Motorsports Park, or Road Atlanta? Not sure what costs are, traffic usually isn't bad out thoseaways.

SCCA and PCA rents out Nassau Coliseum probably 10-15 days a year so I can't imagine it costing too much. But being that it's out on Long Island, I understand it's not exactly central.
Englishtown Raceway is in suburban Jersey, 20 minutes from NYC and hosts all kinds of events and track days and such.
Pocono Raceway could also be cool but pricey and with the amount of cars I'm expecting will show up, we'd be lucky if we all got 1 run on the track.
I'd be okay with something more central to the east coast- VA or NC, even eastern TN wouldn't be bad, but I'm not familiar with any venues there to suggest. Somewhere with a road course would be fun!

Haven't read the entire thread, but I didn't want to post this if someone already had posted. VIR is kind of in the middle of no where, but it has some great things to offer if the dates are available. The staff at the raceway can suggest some things to really set it up nicely.

That being said, Richmond VA is probably the most happening city close (2.5 hrs max), Raleigh NC is about 1.5 hrs but a beautiful drive, and Roanoke VA is about 2 hrs max, and Greensboro NC (1HR) / Winston Salem 1.5 HR from the raceway.

Reason why they can do it is they rent it out often that, they get pretty good deal. That's why, I try to contact & coordinate with them.

The reason why I posted that comment is, I'm getting PM like
"U need 2 do it in NYC! It's tite!"
"Boston is close to my place, so you need to do it there."

& so on... After reading several dozens of it, I can handle up to certain level of those lol

BUT don't get me wrong. There are few members have been sending me very helpful info. They even contact local SCCA & other autox organizer to get quotes from parking space, track, hotels & other great resources.

Charlotte! we have the Nascar Hall of fame, and Charlotte motor speedway, and plenty of places for a big meet. Right in the middle of the East coast, and its a pretty cheap area. Also don't goto MD, they shut down a stance meet a few months ago and gave everyone a hard time.

Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge TN is modified car friendly (most of TN is, actually). They do Rod Runs there every year, but it is basically all over the streets, etc. Virginia really isn't that tuner friendly. Knoxville has easy access to the tail as well (through Maryville).

If there is a consideration of this area, let me know if I can help.

I vote Charlotte as well, and not just because I live here.

I think the Carolinas would be perfect. It is in the center of the east coast and the drive along the coast is amazing!

I agree, I think most members in the Atlanta area could make this drive as well.
