As the 300 on e85 seems to be the highest performance this system can currently deliver, I eagerly await the results. From shiv's 250 vs 300 dyno on same dump pack(I believe), the 300's curve is smoother, and makes a consistently larger amount of power above ~3500 rpms. The motor may cost more, but the compressor should be similar price(material/labor), of course that's not considering market adjustment.
The only benefit I can see to the 250 is that since the 300 uses more power, it might deplete the dump batteries quicker. I think the 250 is supposed to last 2 min of continuous use before it needs a recharge.. so maybe the 300 would last for 1.30? I have nowhere to use it for that long without letting off, so as long as the price is comparable I have wait for the 300.

The dual dump packs seem to be worth between 5/10hp through the whole range and cost is what; (extra dump pack/new batt tray/relocation cables/inline fuse: ~$150) best value of power vs $ of any other mod out there IMO.

E85 should be worth between 10 to 20hp. According to Sojhinns dyno of 91 vs E85 it's an increase of ~16hp/15tq, also through the entire rpm range, probably less compared to 93. But from what I understand, if you have the OFT, the cost is a tank of gas and 5minutes to reflash your maps

Put it all together: Shiv's dyno showed the tq300 on single dump pack making 216hp/192tq, so dual dump pack and e85 should add between 15 to 30hp. So I would estimate 238hp/210tq. vs stock of est: 178hp/142tq (91oct pulled from page 1)

so +60hp/68tq

the cost:
panel filter $40
Phantom $1550 + TQ300 upgrade ??
Batteries/relocation $280
OFT/OFH combo $1015
auto on/off relay $5

estimated total: $2890 + shipping/tq300 upgrade price.

$3000 / 60hp = $50 per horse.

Though I am still curious to see a dyno of this setup with and without OFH

Aux charger!

Yep! Just finished installing the trunk mount (stock) starter battery, secondary dump packs and aux charger. Much thanks to Rob for getting those goodies out to me for testing. Did some driving with the new electronics (and the TQ300) and I can immediately see the difference in both charging/recovery time and voltage under boost. Before, with the TQ300, voltage would drop to 19.0 during long 4th gear pulls to redline. Now it doesn't drop below 21v. Top end power seems stronger but we will now for sure when I visit the dyno later this week. That should give the new batteries more time to break in. Regardless, it feels pretty darn good.

Tomorrow morning I'm off to Vortech engineering to pick up the test car that I dropped off there last week. I'll be spending the day on their dyno, dialing it in with their calibration engineer. Should be driving home later in the nigh or the next day. Then it will get an OpenFlash header installed and retuned. So perhaps next week we should be able to do some good SC vs SC comparison test. I don't think there will necessarily be a "winner" since they are so different in just about every way. But comparing them will likely bright to light their relative strengths.

Cheers,
Shiv

This ESC experiment has just entered into a new phase.... Man I gotta say the refinement of the system and install has gone to a whole new level since if got the kit last August. In the last 5 months Rob has refined the control unit, created the aux booster, refined the heat management system (x2), developed a drag reduction system, created the battery holder and has a new compressor in testing.... Additionally, people have home brewed other solutions (pug's oled monitor and jpit's dual dump pack). What the hell is next?

Who wants to crowd fund Rob $10k to design an intake for a dual ESC system?

Thatruth2001:Who wants to crowd fund Rob $10k to design an intake for a dual ESC system?

not a bad idea, but it would take away from one of the key features, dual system would probably require new clutch, axles, fuel, and cooling upgrades... not necessary a bad thing, but not the simple ~1-2 hour bolt-on anymore. On the other hand, it would be nice to have a level to upgrade to if you "outgrew" the base system, vs scrapping the whole thing and going the more conventional route.

also, everyone seems to relocate battery to trunk. (I would like to see Shiv's new setup). Has anyone just removed the bottom seat cushion from the back seat, behind the driver and mounted one there? I think a slim battery would fit on the floor behind my seat (I'm 5'10''). But a stock sized optima should fit in the seat bottom. You could even make a nice cubby/box to cover that whole side of the back seat. and let's face it, if you are going to have 1 passenger in the back, they won't be sitting behind the driver... if you need to drive 3 passengers, then maybe someone will have to ride in the trunk.

Finally completed my TQ250 24V install today. @Robftss kit with @shiv@vishnu 's tune with help from @WRB5titch, and @Sojhinn. I had a bit of an ordeal mostly due to my own rusty wrenching chops. I'll write that whole thing up manana.

For now, I will say this. After properly installing the kit, blasting all over So Cal for hours, and coming home and checking the logs everything written in this thread by Phantom ESC owners/testers, Rob and Shiv themselves are true.

1. The whole system installed in 2 hours.
2. Done properly the hardware install is EASY
3. Done properly the software install is EASY
4. The car is instantly transformed. This is no exaggeration.
5. The car gets even better (quicker, and faster) as the batteries condition, warm up and the ECU learns.
6. Rob and Shiv's customer service has been second to none on this board. I don't know how they do it. GMTA or something.
7. Can't wait to add back e85+ a header for 20-30whp cause I'm greedy and not afraid to say it.
8. For the performance, price and ease of installation, nothing touches the Phantom ESC + Open Flash Tablet tune. Nothing even comes close.

That's about it for now. Plenty more pics and impressions coming up. Oh and thanks @VR46 for generously providing relays to us new Phantom Supercharger owners. What a dood!

Btw- there are two holes on the passenger side that can help hold the looms. Check out my install picture for the locations.

Took a cue from @Sojhinn and cleaned things up under the hood today.

Also removed the front bumper and shortened the intake snorkel as suggested by @shiv@vishnu

Is this some kind of zip tie-based board game?
