Radium Engineering Catch Cans

I just attempted(still half way through - at work atm) and did the drivers side(RHD in Australia) can install. Part of the cannister rubs up against one of the OEM black lines.

Any other Australians have installed theirs yet? Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem. I had to sleeve a spare SPOON oil cannister on the bottom of the cannister to prevent any abrasion from the cannister and the black metal tubing.

On our car we still use the original painted bolts for the lower bracket. However, if you didn't receive the new longer bolts I'm pretty sure you were part of the initial group buy. After that group buy we decided to include the longer bolts with the kit. BUT if you're going to be adding this bracket for the radium cans I am fairly positive the stock painted bolts will not be long enough, so shoot us an email and we'll get you the longer bolts!

Thanks to you two folks (That_guy and whataboutbob) that provided pictures of the fitment with our hood struts, now we know for sure when customers call in an ask if they'll fit

Thanks for the support Chase! Yes, I was part of the original group buy. No need to send the replacement bolts, I happen to have a bunch of metric bolts in my toolbox that fit perfectly

Managed to install the dual catch cans with one or two hiccups, not sure if you LHD guys had them(I'm from Australia, so car is RHD). Here's a copy-paste from my build thread:

One or two hiccups here and there. If you bought bonnet dampers that didn't come supplies with longer bolts it might be a good idea to use them, or buy some 10mm bolts. Stock bolts just manage to secure them though.

Left Hand Side
If your using a FT86Speed Factory braille 11lbs AGM battery holder, you'll be pleased to know that it just fits the catch can. I would probably put the can in a rubber sleeve of some sort to be safe(electrical wise) and protect the finish from abrasion.



Right Hand Side
One or two hiccups here, you have to disconnect a metal pipe(2 clips) and let it hang slightly loose. Also a bunch of wiring loom has to be unclipped from the strut tower. Very tight fit. In this picture you can see I used one of my SPOON oil reservoir socks wrapped around it, secured with zip ties. This is to stop abrasion with the loose metal pipe(which is resting hard up against the catch can)

Oh yeah, I would probably recommend getting the petcock drainkit option. I kinda wish I had in hindsight.

Agreed. I just emptied mine for the first time (had ~600km of spirited driving this weekend) and it was a bit of an ordeal taking the whole bracket off the car to do it.

It wasn't full, but it was enough to reach the bottom of the dipstick.

@stevo_12v Thanks for the pics. Now I'm concerned. Mine is also RHD and my PCV can has arrived but I have yet to install it. What does the metal pipe do? I can wrap it with some foam where it touches the can, but if it gets hot it may burn the foam.

Here's what I have after a long drive up the 5 (fairly straight and mellow), and then a spirited drive (lots of high revs, downshifts, and cornering hard) back down the 1 through Big Sur. Around a 1000 miles total. The PCV side is the one that has a bit of residue.

I got the dual can kit for my RHD car, I'm not bothering to install the RHS can as I'm not comfortable with it rubbing against the brake hardline. I've just installed a can on the LHS and intercepted the PCV line. I'll use the second can on one of my other cars with a custom bracket.

anyone considered using a turkey baster or big syringe and hose down the dipstick hole to drain?

That's actually a pretty darn good idea. Doubt you can fit a turkey baster in that little hole though. Maybe a water spray bottle trigger.. could take you a while but at least you'd get a good forearm workout.

That's what the little tube on the end if your sucking device is for


It's what I used to do with a previous can with no drain. Big syringe and tube
