i Buy an Absolute Base 86, where do I go on the net to bring it up to Snuff?

Say I just bought any Variant on the car in question in absolute base form. Where and most specifically who do I trust in taking my new car up to absolute Peak and Equal "Off The Shelf", as it were that would be comparable to a $30K example? Talking state side here.

May I add, doesn't need to be one shop or person. Just talking "BITS & BOBS" to make the car equivalent to a Top-Shelf like Fog Lights, that would be more than likely cheaper and perform better, All-Weather Floor mats (which if it's all four is a good price) - dunno if I should go NON-OEM.

Also another question I have is it more common to have "BESPOKE" audio solutions? For instance the subwoofer Scion sells with their version becoming more common place.

I have seen an advert for a company that sells updated stereo equipment, speakers and such that will make your car BOOM and are offer a far better Auditory Experience. And also simple Lip Style spoilers and the new "GOT-TO-HAVE-IT" lighting in the footwells and such. Really how much should key locks cost? Its Silly charging $89 for each, sure you can just use one lock but what about the other three, which I think is the wrong objective.

Not necessarily mods, just ad-ons when you buy your car.

Best bang for your buck is to just buy the BRZ. And I say that as someone who would never buy one because I hate bits and bobs.

Scion especially in populated areas of California really stick to their guns on the 'pure price' scam so odds are you won't get out the door for less than advertised. Meanwhile a fully loaded BRZ is what, $3k more, and Subaru dealers are willing to wheel and deal. If you're willing to buy out of state you can snag a base BRZ for less than an in state FRS.

Exactly, like instead of driving a totally decked out FR-S/BRZ off the lot, totally base - then going out and buying all the crap that would bring it up to Top Shelf.

Can I save more money by going After-Market or would it be cheaper just to buy a Top Shelf version off the lot.

I often go to dealer websites to see if they are over charging for the car or not. I do that a lot with Porsches and just recently caught a Porsche Dealer straight-up lie on their ebay posting. The car was used and they even said in description that they were offering their 991 911 Turbo S for less than it was worth. Well Inspector LBC went to the Build your own website since this dealer had the build sheet. Well that Turbo S MSRP was $184K according to Porsche's "Build Your Own". This dealer was selling the car for $195K. And supposedly they were selling it for less than something like Blue Book would provide. What Horse Shit. The folks at the Porsche Forum were like "what does it matter(?)" et al. To me it matters hugely, especially when people straight up lie on their eBay postings because you could go out and buy a brand new 911 Twin Turbo S for less than their used Turbo S cost. What Horse Shit rip off artist.

I created a new ebay account by the name of Raulph Nader.

Sorry again for my ramblin's, it just pisses me off when people take TOTAL ADVANTAGE of those who don't know as much.

Certain things you are better off getting from the dealer. When I finally buy my BRZ I plan on getting the Limited with the Homelink rear view mirror and a sharkfin antenna. The way I look at it, the push to start isn't going to be easy to add on your own, HID's are pretty expensive when done right and the Alcentara seats are also nice though I can see why some people might opt to replace those with something aftermarket as well however for my purposes they will be just fine.

From there I am going to upgrade my stereo with aftermarket parts. In my opinion the stereo is the one thing you never want to upgrade at the factory. Can definitely be done cheaper and better on your own. I'll be going with mostly JL audio speakers and amps as I have in my current vehicle, then a double din Pioneer deck to finish it off. Obviously performance parts can come later but this is what I will have done almost from day one.

It's almost always going to be more expensive to buy a base model car and then add on OEM or aftermarket parts to bring it up to par with the options you could have gotten by buying a higher trim. Even if, in this case, there isn't really a huge difference overall.

So let's just start figuring it out. Monogram FRS vs Limited BRZ and getting a base FRS up to snuff.

Alcantara or leather seats? Okay, that's going to run you at least 1500 bucks front and rear most likely. Want them heated? Couple hundred more.

HID? Figure 1200 for BRZ OEM headlights or 1500-2000 for 86 OEM headlights. Yeah you can take apart your headlights and do a HID retrofit, and that's fine and will cost less if that's what you want to do, but it's also technically not legal. Likelihood of that change getting you into trouble though? Slim to none, probably. You can also do aftermarket headlights like Winjet, but I'd personally probably still go with a HID projector retrofit on top of those. After all we want comparable to the higher trim, right?

Do you want keyless proximity entry? EasyGo makes a system that looks pretty close to OEM, but it's six hundred bucks and people have said it's a difficult install, ymmv.

Add another grand, at least, if you want dual-zone HVAC converted over once you buy the parts and the harness that someone on here is selling.

Now add labor into all of that if you don't want to do it yourself.

It adds up pretty quick.

You summed that up a lot better than I did. That is basically what I wanted to get at. I actually forgot about the dual climate control which is one of the reasons why I'll be going with a BRZ limited.

On my Third-Hand is do I want a Scion or Subaru?

In England does Subaru sell the BRZ in Their Lots or just the 86 at the Toyota dealerships?
