Hi @AVOturboworld
Would you be able to recommend a drop in fuel pump and injectors to run your stage 2 kit on E85? Cheers. |

That depends entirely on your intended WHP goals.

I guess that is a fair response. What would you suggest is a reasonable boost pressure and power figure for this turbo and engine?
DW65 and 700cc injectors. 300WHP? I thought you guys were developing a drop in replacement pump. Is that still happening or am I mistaken? Thanks. |

300whp is available on the stock injectors and the upgraded fuel pump on 92+ octane gas (98 octane in Australia). E85 is generally looked at for those 350+whp builds.

ok. How about 350+whp? The reason I want to go E85 is for emissions testing rather than power. But not going to pass that opportunity up either. :-)

I put together an illustration to explain the header issue and differentiate between a warped flange and flanges that are not flat on a plane.
The first illustration is flanges that are flat on a plane. The problem with the Subaru header design is that, with a tubular header, the flanges will tweak in or out a little. It's quite common on Subaru headers. However, the flanges themselves are flat. The problem is, as in illustration no. 3, some people will attempt to "flatten" the flanges from side to side to make it flat on a plane. That simply creates angled flanges, and they may not bolt down correctly at that point. Simply bolting the header down without touching the flanges, and it would straighten out naturally. Illustration no. 4 shows what can happen if you put thicker gaskets on without spacing out the bracket mount in the middle. ![]() I'll update our install guide with this information as well. |

I was telling a mechanic of many years about this today while we were looking at the header, and he instantly saw how that support bracket could cause a gasket leak without proper installation. There's also a lot of extra weight on the header flanges due to the turbocharger hanging off of it, so it's pretty imperative that the support bracket is installed correctly.

Hi @AVOturboworld
Thanks for the diagram. It does help clear up where you are describing a problem. Would you say that my header flanges are within spec? Thanks ![]()
