Well if people prefer family vehicles the Porsche Panamera is the car to copy.
Not saying it will be a direct competitor to the Panamera but an inexpensive alternative to the bland offerings Toyota currently has. It could be a 3 door coupe with small suicide doors to keep it small.

IMO I think that this story is a bunch of bs. Why can't they provide references? or at least who said it? its just a bunch of skepticism thrown out there to piss of the fans of this car.

Ha! Please, he doesn't know anything to make a good car lol Just trollin'

But seriously, I they shouldn't mess it up by delaying it more. Some fans are not excited bout gotta wait til 2011, if they delay it to 2013 all the hell gonna be loose.

If this is true and the car is pushed back until 2013-2014 then I'll have to buy a 370z or STi next year because I can't wait that long. My current vehicle need to be replaced and I was trying to hold out until the FT-86 dropped in early 2012 but no way can I wait until 2014. Your loss Toyota

Either way my lease ends in 2013 but was really hoping to be able to sit back and wait for any kinks and any possible new versions that may come out, kinda feel uncomfortable jumping into a car with out atleast a year or two behind it.

I'm just gona say what almost everyone else has said, I don't believe it for a second, just another car magazine with nothing else to report on so its making up some BS riding the 86's hype trying to sell more magazines.

wow, some of you people are extremely reactionary. it's a totally unconfirmed, unsubstantiated rumor from a second-rate japanese magazine.

i'm sure things will be just fine. /pats your collective heads

settle. down.

that said, i'm doing just fine with a fun, sporty car, and a reliable, practical vehicle. if toyota somehow messes it up, i'll look elsewhere.
