Is this a good enough answer to your question?

FT86 rumors
I am very close to saying f&%#k Mr. Toyoda and his company altogether. I am so tired of getting jerked around by a company I have been a huge fan of for too long. Every car they build is boring as hell and I have no use for it. I guess my '86 MR2 will be the last vehicle I own baring Mr. Toyoda's family name. Build the FT86 like the prototype like everyone knows they can or F&%@k off!

Yeh, I really hope this is bogus news. I definitely won't wait until 2013 for my next car.

I believe. Like someone else said, we are getting NO NOTABLE UPDATES for months at a time on a car that is going to be HUGE for Toyota...and it supposedly releases in a year?
If the FT will be a 2014 model. I can't wait that long, screw the FT86 |

Orido's Blog CR-Z That's Orido's blog site and he test drove em (both mt & cvt). He claim that it was fun car. ...cuz Orido said it fun car doesn't mean anything, but just to add that some plus feedback to CR-Z. BUT to my personal opinion, I would never buy CR-Z for sure. |

Hope it's a rumor as well. Doesn't matter to me much anymore though, I'm looking at the new STi as a replacement for the S.

I'm not too worried. It feels like another rumor that Best Car likes to start. From what I know of Best Car, they seem more like an automotive tabloid than a legitimate news source. Besides, I look at it like this:
Why would Toyota go through all the trouble to have this thing have software to import its data into Gran Turismo 5? Why would they promote it so heavily with Gran Turismo 5? Why would they bring in a second tuning shop to pimp one as a "G-sport" version? Why have a guy go on camera and say something along the lines of "This is the design we're going with. Slightly different interior and a slightly higher nose."? Why do all this if you don't plan on taking that car to production? I can't recall any concept car that's been promoted as the FT has that didn't make it into production fairly close to the concept version. I'll be more likely to believe this rumor if I see a memo from Toyota.

Not buying anything that bestcar is selling. In fact, the redesign rubbish has already been refuted by the guys from ED2. Toyota know the positive response was overwhelming. Nobody could be that thick to want to change what wasn't necessary.
That being said, I'm willing to buy the FT-86 as long as it is true to the ORIGINAL concept (<1200kg, ~200hp, FUN and agile), almost no matter what vehicles I have in my garage at the time. That being said, 2013 is a long time off, and the further away you launch it, the less relevant it will become. I always believed Toyota was a forward thinking company. This is a car for NOW, next year the latest, not 2013. Sack up and sacrifice a few sales initially to build the legend and sell droves in the end. Fuck this economic depression. People who want to buy this car, have the money to do it now and will spend the money to buy it asap. Anybody else was probably going to wait and get it used 5 years down the line. A hybrid has no place in what the car is supposed to be. Do not fuck with me Toyoda. I think I'm going to end up starting my own sports car company. Feel free to not use the design so I can. |

I just had a Gurren Lagann flash back -- "Who The Hell Do You Think I Am -- KIIIIIICCCKK!"
I'll buy anything from Matador - he knows what to do. And with that attitude -- how could you go wrong? |
